Alan Quinlivan
Alan Quinlivan (1915-1965) was an Australian rugby league footballer who played in the 1930s and 1940s. He was one of five rugby league playing brothers; Clinton, Jack, Leon and Oscar Quinlivan. Playing career Quinlivan played for the South Sydney Rabbitohs, South Sydney club for seven seasons between 1936 and 1940, 1942 and 1945. He then played two seasons with Sydney Roosters, Eastern Suburbs between 1946 and 1947. He represented New South Wales rugby league team, New South Wales on three occasions during 1940. Death Quinlivan died at Newcastle, New South Wales on 17 November 1965, aged 50. Oscar Quinlivan
Oscar John Quinlivan (1897–1949) was an Australian rugby league footballer who played in the 1920s and 1930s. He played for South Sydney during the club's first golden era. Playing career Born at Cundle near Taree, New South Wales and one of 12 brothers, Oscar Quinlivan was a or who played for South Sydney for eight seasons between 1923 and 1930. He featured in four grand finals during his career, winning two of them in 1928 and 1929 and losing two in 1923 and 1924. He was also a member of the squad that won the 1925 Premiership. The Sydney Rugby League team, known as the City Rugby League team, or Combined Sydney, or Sydney Firsts, or Sydney Capitals, is a representative rugby league team. From 2021, the men's team is to consist of players selected from the New South Wales Rugby League Ron Massey Cup competition to play against a combined team selected from Country, New South Wales competitions. The women's team is selected on a region of origin basis from the NSWRL Women's Premiership. New South Wales Rugby League Team
The New South Wales rugby league team has represented the Australian state of New South Wales in rugby league football since the sport's beginnings there in 1907. Also known as the Blues due to their sky blue jerseys, the team competes in the annual State of Origin series. This annual event is a series of three games competing for the State of Origin shield. As of 2022, the team is coached by Brad Fittler and captained by James Tedesco. Prior to 1980 when the "state-of-origin" selection criteria were introduced, the New South Wales team, in addition to playing annually against Queensland, played matches against foreign touring sides and occasionally toured overseas themselves.
