Alan MacDonald (production Designer)
Alan MacDonald (c. 1956 – 30 August 2017) was a British production designer. He was best known for his work on ''The Queen'' (2006), which earned him nominations for the Art Directors Guild Award for Excellence in Production Design for a Contemporary Film and Best Technical Achievement at the British Independent Film Awards, and for the Rajasthan-set ''The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel'' (2012) which earned him a nomination for the Art Directors Guild Award for Excellence in Production Design for a Contemporary Film. In 2013, he designed the sets for the Academy Award-nominated film ''Philomena''. He had also been a production designer for a number of advertisements for global firms including Coca-Cola, Levi's, Microsoft, Mercedes-Benz and Volkswagen, and was the theatrical designer for Kylie Minogue's 2002 "KylieFever2002" tour. The Queen (2006 Film)
''The Queen'' is a 2006 British biographical drama film that depicts the events following the death of Diana, Princess of Wales in 1997. Initially, the Royal Family regard Diana's death as a private affair and thus not to be treated as an official royal death, in contrast with the views of Prime Minister Tony Blair and Diana's ex-husband, Prince Charles, who favour the general public's desire for an official expression of grief. Matters are further complicated by the media, royal protocol regarding Diana's official status, and wider issues about republicanism. The Jacket
''The Jacket'' is a 2005 American science-fiction psychological thriller film directed by John Maybury and starring Adrien Brody, Keira Knightley, Kris Kristofferson and Jennifer Jason Leigh. It is partly based on the 1915 Jack London novel '' The Star Rover'', published in the United Kingdom as ''The Jacket''. Nightingale Hospital (Marylebone)
The Nightingale Hospital is a private mental health facility in Lisson Grove, Marylebone, London. It is owned by Groupe Sinoue-Sarl, which is based in Garches. History The hospital has its origins in the "Establishment for Gentlewomen During Temporary Illness" founded at Cavendish Square in March 1850. On opening, it had 11 beds, and employed nurses as and when required. Florence Nightingale became superintendent in August 1853, a week before it moved to Harley Street, and installed hot water on all floors, and a windlass to deliver hot foods quickly from the kitchen to beds. Under her governance, it was made non-sectarian and renamed the "Institute for Gentlewomen During Illness", taking in widows and daughters of professionals, the clergy and military personnel. Bipolar disorder, previously known as manic depression, is a mental disorder characterized by periods of depression and periods of abnormally elevated mood that last from days to weeks each. If the elevated mood is severe or associated with psychosis, it is called mania; if it is less severe, it is called hypomania. During mania, an individual behaves or feels abnormally energetic, happy or irritable, and they often make impulsive decisions with little regard for the consequences. There is usually also a reduced need for sleep during manic phases. During periods of depression, the individual may experience crying and have a negative outlook on life and poor eye contact with others. The risk of suicide is high; over a period of 20 years, 6% of those with bipolar disorder died by suicide, while 30–40% engaged in self-harm.
