Alan Kennedy
Alan Kennedy (born 31 August 1954) is an English former professional footballer who played the majority of his career as a left back for Newcastle United and then Liverpool. He was a stalwart member of the latter team that won many honours from the late 1970s to the mid-1980s. In all Kennedy was active as a professional in England, Denmark, Belgium and Wales, making over 500 appearances in a career that lasted for 22 years. He also represented England at senior international level. He is the uncle of the former professional footballer Tom Kennedy. Club career Born in Sunderland, Kennedy started his professional career at age 18 for Newcastle United. After establishing his place in the side he played there for five years. Penshaw, Tyne And Wear
The village of Penshaw , formerly known as ''Painshaw'' or ''Pensher'', is an area of the metropolitan district of the City of Sunderland, in Tyne and Wear, England. Tom Kennedy (English Footballer)
Thomas Gordon Kennedy (born 24 June 1985) is an English former professional footballer who played as a left-back. He now plays semi-professionally for Ramsbottom United where he is club captain. Club career Kennedy was born in Bury, England and grew up supporting his local team Bury. His father, Keith Kennedy, played for Bury while his uncle, Alan Kennedy was a defender for Newcastle United and Liverpool. As he started playing football, Kennedy revealed he started out playing as a central midfielder before moving to different positions, leading him to play as a left-back. The 1984 Football League Cup Final (billed as the Milk Cup Final) was an association football match between Liverpool and Everton. The 1983 Football League Cup Final was a football match held on 26 March 1983 between League Cup holders Liverpool and first-time finalists Manchester United, who won the FA Cup later that year. Liverpool won the match 2–1; Norman Whiteside scored the opener for Manchester United, before Alan Kennedy equalised with 15 minutes to go. The winner was scored in the eighth minute of extra-time by Ronnie Whelan. Had Manchester United won the League Cup as well as the FA Cup that year, they would have become the first team ever to have won the two competitions in the same season.
