Alan Coleman
Alan James Coleman (28 December 1936 – 10 December 2013) was an English-born TV series writer, director and producer, primarily in the southern hemisphere, where he worked on soap operas ''The Young Doctors'' (which he also created), ''The Restless Years'', '' Punishment'', '' Breakers, '' Neighbours'' and ''Shortland Street''. Earlier he was the head of children's programming at ATV in the UK until emigrating to Australia in 1974. In 1997, he directed several episodes of the British soap opera, ''Family Affairs'' as a part of a working holiday in the UK. At one point, he also temporarily parted company with the Reg Grundy production stable to establish his own company, which provided television coverage of major sporting events. Before going behind the camera, he originally worked as an actor and is on record as saying that "you cannot be a good director unless you have acted yourself". Castle Bromwich
Castle Bromwich () is a large suburban village situated within the Metropolitan Borough of Solihull in the English county of the West Midlands. It is bordered by the rest of the borough to the south east; also Sutton Coldfield to the east and north east, Shard End to the south west, Castle Vale, Erdington and Minworth to the north and Hodge Hill to the west – all areas of the City of Birmingham. It constitutes a civil parish, which had a population of 11,857 according to the 2001 census, falling to 11,217 at the 2011 census. Family Affairs
''Family Affairs'' is a British soap opera that aired on Channel 5. It debuted on 30 March 1997, the day of the launch of said channel and was the first programme broadcast on the channel. It was screened as five thirty-minute episodes per week, followed by an omnibus edition on Sundays. The series never achieved high ratings, so it went through a number of dramatic revamps involving wholesale cast turnover. The premise of the series was also refocused from a family in a quiet suburb just outside London, to a range of different people living on a bustling outer London street. The series was shot on video to give a film look. In 1999 and 2004, single episodes used standard video presentation for testing purposes. Reg Grundy
Reginald Roy Grundy (4 August 1923 – 6 May 2016) was an Australian entrepreneur and media mogul, best known for his numerous television productions. He was the producer of various Australian game shows, such as '' Blankety Blanks'' (based on a Mark Goodson–Bill Todman production, ''Match Game'') and ''Wheel of Fortune'' (based on the US Merv Griffin production of the same name) before later diversifying into soap operas and serials including ''Prisoner'', ''The Young Doctors'', '' Sons and Daughters'' and ''Neighbours'', the last of which was inducted into the Logie Hall of Fame in 2005. Associated Television was the original name of the British broadcaster ATV, part of the Independent Television (ITV) network. It provided a service to London at weekends from 1955 to 1968, to the Midlands on weekdays from 1956 to 1968, and to the Midlands all week from 1968 to 1982.
