Allan Bolton is a New Zealand former professional darts player. Darts career Bolton won the 2005 Alan King Memorial Men's Singles Champions. He won the 2007 New Zealand National Championships and won himself a place in the 2008 PDC World Darts Championship. He was beaten 5–0 in the preliminary round by Erwin Extercatte. Bolton quit the PDC in 2011. "I Believe in a Thing Called Love" is a song by English rock band the Darkness, released as the third single from their debut studio album, ''Permission to Land''. When released as a single in September 2003, it peaked at number two on the UK Singles Chart. The song also charted worldwide, becoming a top-10 hit in Ireland, New Zealand, and Sweden, as well as on the US ''Billboard'' Modern Rock Tracks chart. Background and release "I Believe in a Thing Called Love" was originally issued as a 3-track EP in August 2002; however, as only a small number of copies were printed, it was ineligible to chart. The EP also included early versions of "Love on the Rocks with No Ice" and "Love Is Only a Feeling". The Darkness (band)
The Darkness are a British rock band formed in Lowestoft, England. The band consists of Justin Hawkins (lead vocals, lead guitar), his brother Dan Hawkins (rhythm guitar, backing vocals), Frankie Poullain (bass guitar, backing vocals) and Rufus Tiger Taylor (drums, backing vocals). The Darkness came to prominence with the release of their debut album, ''Permission to Land'', in 2003. Backed by the singles "I Believe in a Thing Called Love", "Growing on Me", "Get Your Hands off My Woman", and "Love Is Only a Feeling", the album was certified quadruple platinum in the United Kingdom, with sales of over 1.3 million. 2008 PDC World Darts Championship
The 2008 Ladbrokes.com World Darts Championship was the 15th World Championship organised by the Professional Darts Corporation since it separated from the British Darts Organisation. The event took place between 17 December 2007 and 1 January 2008 at the Alexandra Palace, London, England. John Part won his third World Championship, beating the qualifier Kirk Shepherd 7–2 in the final. He joined Phil Taylor, Raymond van Barneveld, Eric Bristow, and John Lowe as the only people to have won more than one world titles, although they have since been joined by Martin Adams, Adrian Lewis, Gary Anderson, Michael van Gerwen and Peter Wright. Erwin Extercatte
Erwin Extercatte (born 16 April 1981 in Delden, Overijssel) is a Dutch former darts player who competed for the Professional Darts Corporation. Career Extercatte showed great promise in his first two years in the PDC, winning the Open Oust Nederland in 2004, followed by the 2005 Open Holland. He made his televised debut when he played at the 2006 PDC World Darts Championship, defeating Darren Webster in the first round but lost in the second round to Gary Welding. Extercatte got through to the 2008 PDC World Darts Championship. Starting at the preliminary round, he defeated Alan Bolton of New Zealand 5-0 before beating Colin Osborne in the first round.
