Al Shahaniya Sports Club ( ar, نادي الشحانية الرياضي), is a Qatari sports club based in Al-Shahaniya, a town 20 km from the capital Doha. Founded in 1998, the most prominent team of the club is the Association football, football team which plays in the Qatari Second Division. The club's home ground is Grand Hamad Stadium. History Al Shahaniya was founded on 27 December 1998, under the name Al-Nasr, under the decision of Sheikh Mohammed Bin Eid Al Thani, who was the chairman of the Public Authority for youth and sports at the time. The club was considered as the spiritual successor of Al Nasr SC, an amateur football club founded in 1951. The club, whose name translates to "victory", became notable for being the first Qatari football team to play against clubs outside of the country as well as the first Qatari club to recruit foreigners. Grand Hamad Stadium
The Grand Hamad Stadium ( ar, استاد حمد الكبير), also known as the Al–Arabi Sports Club Stadium, is a multi-purpose stadium in Doha, Qatar. The stadium holds 13,000 people, and is currently used mostly for football matches, as it is Al-Arabi SC's home ground. The stadium was used extensively during the 2006 Asian Games, and was a venue for several different sports, including football, table tennis, rugby sevens, and fencing. The Iraq national football team played their 2014 FIFA World Cup qualification (AFC) matches at the stadium, as did the Yemen national football team in their 2018 FIFA World Cup qualification (AFC) matches. Francesco Antonucci (born 20 June 1999) is a Belgian professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Feyenoord. Al-Gharafa Sports Club ( ar, نادي الغرافة الرياضي) is a Qatari multisports club based in the Al Gharrafa district of Al Rayyan. It is best known for its football team, although it also has teams for other sports. It was established on 6 June 1979 as Al-Ittihad and later officially incorporated into the Qatar Football Association on 23 September of that same year.
