Nahda
The Nahda ( ar, النهضة, translit=an-nahḍa, meaning "the Awakening"), also referred to as the Arab Awakening or Enlightenment, was a cultural movement that flourished in Arabic-speaking regions of the Ottoman Empire, notably in Egypt, Lebanon and Syria, during the second half of the 19th century and the early 20th century. In traditional scholarship, the Nahda is seen as connected to the cultural shock brought on by Napoleon's invasion of Egypt in 1798, and the reformist drive of subsequent rulers such as Muhammad Ali of Egypt. However, more recent scholarship has shown the Nahda's cultural reform program to have been as "autogenetic" as it was Western-inspired, having been linked to the Tanzimat—the period of reform within the Ottoman Empire which brought a constitutional order to Ottoman politics and engendered a new political class—as well as the later Young Turk Revolution, allowing proliferation of the press and other publications and internal changes in politic ... Islamic Renaissance Movement
The Islamic Renaissance Movement ( ar, حركة النهضة الاسلامية, ''Ḥarakat An-Nahḑa Al-Islāmiyya''; french: Mouvement de la Renaissance Islamique, MRI) is a moderate Islamist political party of Algeria. The Egyptian Renaissance Party ( ar-at, حزب النهضة, Hezb Al-Nahda), also known as the Revival Party, is a Salafist political party. However, it has also been reported to be in favor of a civil state. The leader of the party, Ibrahim Al-Zafaraany, stated that the party would focus on education and "scientific research" as well as the economy. Al-Zafaraany is a former member of al-Gama'a al-Islamiyya. The party was founded by former members of the Muslim Brotherhood. Al Nahda ( ar, النهدة) is a locality in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE). Located in eastern Dubai in Deira, Al Nahda forms part of Dubai's eastern border with the emirate of Sharjah. Portions of Al Nahda that flow north into the emirate of Sharjah fall within that emirate's jurisdiction. Al Nahda, literally meaning ''The Awakening'', is bordered to the south and east by Al Qusais, and to the west by Al Mamzar. Al-Nahda Club (; also known locally as ''Al-Aneed'', or "The Tenacious", or just plainly as Al-Nahda) is an Omani sports club based in Al-Buraimi, Oman. Al Nahda Sporting Club ( ar, نادي النهضة الرياضي), or Renaissance in French, was a football club based in the Mar Elias district of Beirut, Lebanon. Supported by the Orthodox community, they were founded in 1926 as Lebanon's first football club. Nahda have won the inaugural Lebanese Premier League in 1933–34, as well as of the first edition of the Lebanese FA Cup in 1937–38. They are also the first team to have won a domestic double (1946–47), and have won a total of five league titles and four FA Cups. In the 1990s the club faced bankruptcy, and were forced to fold.
