Al-Karamah SC (men's Basketball)
Al-Karamah SC ( ar, نادي الكرامة الرياضي) is a Syrian professional basketball club based in the city of Homs, that plays in the Syrian Basketball League. The team is part of the multi-sports club of the same name. In 2021, the Al-Karamah club won its first SBL title. History The club was founded in 1928 as Khalid Bin Walid Sports Club. Since 1971, the club has been called by its current name. In the 2014 season, after the first place in the regular season (Gr.A), the club under the leadership of coach Azzam Husain reached the SBL semifinals, where he lost to Al-Ittihad SC 74-93 and took the final 3rd place. The first big success in the history of the club was participation in the final of the SBL in 2016 season, where they were defeated by Al-Jaish SC. Syrian Basketball League
The Syrian Basketball League ( ar, الدوري السوري لكرة السلة) is the top-tier professional men's basketball league in Syria. It is organized annually as a national championship with playoffs and a national cup by the Syrian Basketball Federation. Both Aleppo teams, Jalaa SC and Al-Ittihad SC, dominated the league until 1993. History Jalaa SC, previously known as Shabibeh, dominated the league from 1956 until 1978. Then another team from Aleppo, Al-Ittihad SC, took all the titles until 1993. Later on, Damascus clubs Al Wahda and Al-Jaish SC won some titles sporadically. Syrian Basketball Super Cup
The Syrian Basketball Super Cup ( ar, كأس السوبر السوري لكرة السلة) is the top-tier level national domestic basketball super cup competition, that is played between professional clubs in Syria. It was founded in 2021 as a new super cup composed of the best Syrian clubs. In 2022, two clubs from the Lebanese Basketball League joined the Super Cup. Format According to the current format of the competition, the four best ranked teams from the previous season of the Syrian Basketball League, together with the winner of the Syrian Cup, will automatically qualify. In 2022, the Syrian Basketball Federation agreed with the Lebanese Basketball Federation that in the 2022-23 season, 2 clubs from the Lebanese Basketball League will also start in the competition.
