Akosua Asaa Manu is Ghanaian social marketer and a political activist. She is currently a deputy chief executive officer of the Ghana National Youth Authority. Prior to her appointment she served as the deputy director of communications at the office of the First Lady of Ghana, Rebecca Akufo-Addo. Early life and education Manu had her secondary education at Wesley Girls' Senior High School and then proceeded to the University of Ghana where she obtained a bachelor's degree in economics. Social Marketing
Social marketing is a marketing approach which focuses on influencing behavior with the primary goal of achieving "common good." It utilizes the elements of commercial marketing and applies them to social concepts. However, to see social marketing as only the use of standard commercial marketing practices to achieve non-commercial goals is an oversimplified view. Social marketing has existed for some time, but has only started becoming a common term in recent decades. It was originally done using newspapers and billboards and has adapted to the modern world in many of the same ways commercial marketing has. The most common use of social marketing in today's society is through social media. Traditional commercial marketing aims are primarily financial, though they can have positive social effects as well. National Youth Authority (Ghana)
The National Youth Authority (NYA) was established in 1974 by NRDC 241. It is thus, a Statutory Public Organization with the mandate to co-ordinate and facilitates youth empowerment activities in Ghana to ensure the development of the Ghanaian youth as a whole. The Authority was formerly known as "the National Youth Council (NYC)." In 1981, by an administrative directive, the council was transformed into a "Commission" status as "the National Youth Organizing Commission" with the focus to organize a mass national youth movement called the "Democratic Youth League of Ghana (DYLG)." Rebecca Akufo-Addo
Rebecca Naa Okaikor Akufo-Addo (née Griffiths-Randolph; born 1951) is a Ghanaian public figure and the current First Lady of Ghana as the wife of President Nana Akufo-Addo, 5th President of the 4th Republic of Ghana. Rebecca Akufo-Addo is the daughter of the judge, Jacob Hackenburg Griffiths-Randolph who served as the Speaker of the Parliament of Ghana in Third Republic and Frances Phillipina Griffiths-Randolph (née Mann).
