Akon Eyakenyi
Akon Etim Eyakenyi (born 24 February 1960 in Urue-Offong/Oruko, Nigeria) is a Nigerian politician. She is the current senator representing Akwa Ibom south senatorial district in Akwa Ibom State. She was elected into the senate during the 2019 general elections of Nigeria. She won with a total vote of 122,412. Before being elected into the senate she was the former Minister of Lands, Housing and Urban Development during the regime of President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan. Early life and education Eyakenyi was born in 1960 into the family of Chief Uweh Isangedihi in Urue-Offong/Oruko local government area in Akwa Ibom State. In 1968 she attended Government Primary School, Uko Uyokim where she finished with her First School Leaving Certificate in 1974. Urue-Offong/Oruko
Urue-Offong/Oruko is located in the south east of Nigeria and is a Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State created in September 1991. Urue-Offong/Oruko is one of the five Oro language speaking Local Government Area bounded in the North West by Okobo, Akwa Ibom, Oron, Akwa Ibom in the North East, bounded in the East by Udung Uko, and in the South East by Mbo, Akwa Ibom and also bounded by Esit Eket in the South West. History In September 1991, Urue-Offong/Oruko Local Government Area was carved out of Oron, Akwa Ibom Local Government Area. Victor Attah
Obong Victor Bassey Attah (born 20 November 1938) was Governor of Akwa Ibom State in Nigeria from 29 May 1999 to 29 May 2007. He was a member of the Board of Trustees of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), but has since joined the All Progressives Congress. Background Obong Victor Attah was born on 20 November 1938. He completed post-primary education in 1956. He gained a degree from Leeds College of Art and a post graduate diploma in Building Science from Liverpool University in 1965. Oron People
The Oron people or Örö people are a sub- ethnic group of the larger Ibibio people, that make up the Akpakip Oro or Oron Nation. The Örö are located primarily in southern Nigeria in the riverine area of Akwa Ibom and the Cross River States and in Cameroon. Akpakip Oro are regarded as an ancient warrior people, speaking the Oro language which is in the Cross River language family of the Benue–Congo languages. Akwa Ibom State
Akwa Ibom State is a state in the South-South geopolitical zone of Nigeria, bordered on the east by Cross River State, on the west by Rivers State and Abia State, and on the south by the Atlantic Ocean.
