Akhurwal
Akhorwal or Akhurwal () is a town in Darra Adam Khel in Frontier Region Kohat of the Federally Administered Tribal Areas of Pakistan. Akhorwal has a population of 22,559 according to the 2017 Census of Pakistan. It is located between the cities of Peshawar and Kohat. It is home to FATA University. History After coal mines were discovered in Akhorwal, people of the region disputed how the income from mines should be distributed. On July 23, 2017 an official decision was made for the Pirwal Khel sub-tribe to receive 27 percent of the income, the Bulaki Khel to receive 36.5 percent, and the Gadiya Khel to receive 36.5 percent. FATA University
FATA University ( ur, ; ps, فاټا پوهنتون) is a public sector university situated in Akhorwal, Tribal Sub-Division Darra Adam Khel, Kohat, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. The university is run by the Higher Education Department, Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. History The university was approved by Pakistan's caretaker Prime Minister Mir Hazar Khan Khoso in May 2013. It is the first-ever university in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas. Classes commenced on October 24, 2016, under the direction of Dr. Mohammad Tahir Shah, former professor of geology at University of Peshawar. Kohat

Darra Adam Khel ( ps, درہ آدم خیل) is the main town of Kohat Subdivision (formerly known as "Frontier Region Kohat") in the Kohat District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. It has gained fame and notoriety for its bazaars packed with gunsmiths and weapons merchants. The town consists of one main street lined with multiple shops, while side-alleys and streets contain workshops. Economy A wide variety of firearms are produced in the town, ranging from anti-aircraft guns to pen guns.
