Akeem Thomas
Akeem Thomas (born January 5, 1990) is an Antiguan footballer who currently plays for Caledonia AIA and the Antigua and Barbuda national team. Club career Thomas began his career in 2009 playing for Bassa in the Antigua and Barbuda Premier Division, and helped the team win the Premier Division title in his first season with the team. In 2011 Thomas transferred to the new Antigua Barracuda FC team prior to its first season in the USL Professional Division. He made his debut for the Barracudas on April 17, 2011, in the team's first competitive game, a 2–1 loss to the Los Angeles Blues. International career Thomas made his debut for the Antigua and Barbuda national team in 2008, and has since gone on to make 13 appearances for his country, scoring one goal. Marvin Lee Stadium
Marvin Lee Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Macoya, Trinidad and Tobago which is housed together with the Dr. João Havelange Centre of Excellence. It is used mostly for football matches and is the home stadium of Joe Public F.C. The stadium holds approximately 6,000 people. The stadium was named after defender and national Under-20 football captain Marvin Lee, who sustained head and neck injuries suffered in a collision with Landon Donovan in an U-20 game versus the USA. He was left paralysed after the incident and later succumbed to illness as a result of his weakened state. Lee was later recognised by the government of Trinidad for his service to the nation. In 2007, the stadium became the first in the Caribbean to have an artificial playing surface, costing TT$8 million, which was made possible through a FIFA development grant. The 2014 Caribbean Cup qualification began in May 2014 and ended in October 2014. The qualification competition determined which national teams could play in the 2014 Caribbean Cup which in turn determined which teams participated in the 2015 CONCACAF Gold Cup and the 2016 Copa América Centenario. In March 2014, it was announced that Jamaica would host the 'final stage' of the competition in Montego Bay. In April 2014, the Caribbean Football Union announced the group stage draw. Antigua Recreation Ground is the national stadium of Antigua and Barbuda. It is located in St. John's, on the island of Antigua. The ground has been used by the West Indies cricket team and Antigua and Barbuda national football team. It had Test cricket status. It was also known as the Old Recreation Ground, or the Old Rec. against England in the ''"Blackwash"'' series of 1986 at the Recreation Ground.
