This is a list of airports in Seychelles, sorted by location. Seychelles, officially the Republic of Seychelles, is an archipelago nation of 115 islands in the Indian Ocean, some east of mainland Africa, northeast of the island of Madagascar. Other nearby island countries and territories include Zanzibar to the west, Mauritius and Réunion to the south, Comoros and Mayotte to the southwest. Alphonse Airport
Alphonse Airport is an airport serving Alphonse Island, the sole island of the Alphonse Atoll in the Seychelles. The runway is next to the Alphonse Island Resort. The atoll is southwest of Mahé, south of the Amirante Islands, and north of St. François Atoll, the second atoll of Alphonse Group. Airlines and Destinations IDC Aviation offers flights between Alphonse and Mahé. From October through April there is one scheduled flight per week. Desroches Island
Desroches Island or Île Desroches is the main island of the Amirante Islands, part of the Outer Islands of the Seychelles. It is located 227 km southwest of Victoria, Seychelles. It is 5.5 km long and has a land area of 4.027 km2. Along its circumference of 13 km is a beach of fine sand. Conservation on the island is managed by Island Conservation Society. Denis Island
Denis Island is the second northeasternmost island in the Seychelles. It is north of Mahé, Seychelles, Mahé and lies at the northern edge of the Seychelles bank, along with the nearby Bird Island, Seychelles, Bird Island, which is the northernmost Seychelles island. The coral island was named after the French Navy officer Jean François Denis de Keredern de Trobriand, Denis de Trobriand, who explored it in 1773. Denis Island is privately owned and has a Denis Island Airport, short airstrip. It has a holiday resort with 23 guest chalets. A lighthouse built in 1910 still stands on the northern edge of the island. There is also a chapel named Chapel St. Denis. The island has an abundance of coconut palms, ''Calophyllum, Takamaka'' and ''Casuarina'' trees. D'Arros Island Airport is an airstrip serving D'Arros Island in the Seychelles. The airport is west-southwest of the Seychelles capital of Victoria on Mahé Island. The Darros non-directional beacon (Ident: DAR) is located on the field. After its purchase in 2012, the island and the neighboring atoll were designated a nature reserve in 2014. Coëtivy Island
Coëtivy Island is a small coral island in the Seychelles south of Mahé, at . Along with Île Platte, the nearest neighbor northwest, it comprises the Southern Coral Group and therefore belongs to the Outer Islands. History It was named after Chevalier de Coëtivy, commander of the Ile de France who first sighted the island in 1771. In 1908 it was transferred from Mauritius to Seychelles. In 1970 the island was purchased by the parastatal Seychelles Marketing Board (SMB). In 1989, SMB began producing shrimp. Coëtivy Island became famous for its shrimp farms ( black tiger prawn) and shrimp processing plant that operated on the island. Large scale production began on August 1992. Bird Island, Seychelles
Bird Island is the northernmost island in the Seychelles archipelago, 100 km from Mahe. The 0.94 km2 coral island is known for its birdlife, including sooty terns, fairy terns and common noddies, and for hawksbill and green turtles. Bird Island used to be known as "Île aux Vaches" due to the numerous dugongs (sea cows) that lived in nearby waters.
