Airport Link, Brisbane
The Airport Link is a tunnelled, motorway grade, toll road in the northern suburbs of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. It connects the Brisbane central business district and the Clem Jones Tunnel to the East-West Arterial Road which leads to the Brisbane Airport. It was built in conjunction with the Windsor to Kedron section of the Northern Busway in approximately the same corridor. The Airport Link and busway project involves of tunnelling including the road (6.7 km of twin tunnels), busway tunnels and connecting ramps, as well as 25 bridges and result in over of new road. The Airport Link was Australia's longest road tunnel until the opening of the M8 in Sydney. The estimated construction cost of the Airport Link is $4.8 billion. The Airport Link (also known as the Airport Line or New Southern Railway) is a railway line in Australia connecting Sydney Airport to the Central Business District and the south-western suburbs of Sydney. With the exception of Wolli Creek, the Airport Line stations are operated by a private company, the Airport Link Company, as part of a public private partnership. The contract allows the company to charge a surcharge on top of the normal fare. The line is served by Sydney Trains T8 Airport & South line services. Alignment The Airport Link includes a four kilometre rock tunnel and a six kilometre soft ground tunnel. The tunnel is below the earth's surface. For most of its length, the line travels underground. The Airport Rail Link (ARL) ( th, รถไฟฟ้าแอร์พอร์ต เรล ลิงก์) is an express and commuter rail line in Bangkok, Thailand. The line provides an airport rail link from Suvarnabhumi Airport, via Makkasan Station, to Phaya Thai station in central Bangkok. Most of the line is on a viaduct over the main eastern railway. Airport link line of Shanghai Suburban Railway is a commuter rail line currently under construction in Shanghai. It runs from Hongqiao railway station in Minhang District to Shanghai East railway station in Pudong. The express line is expected to shorten the travel time between the airports of Hongqiao and Pudong from 90 minutes (by Metro Line 2) to under 40 minutes. Construction started in June 2019.
