AccessAir
Access Air was an airline based in Des Moines, Iowa, United States. History AccessAir was founded in 1998 and, after multiple delays, began operating flights in February 1999. Looking to provide lower rates at niche markets such as Des Moines, the Quad Cities, and Peoria, major investors at its start included many local companies, such as Caterpillar Inc. (Peoria) and FBL Financial Group, Principal Financial Group, MidAmerican Energy, and Pioneer Hi-Bred (Des Moines). Flights would fly from Des Moines to LaGuardia International Airport via either the Quad Cities or Peoria. Direct service to Los Angeles was added later; Colorado Springs was later added as a stop. Despite offering discounted rates below major carriers, AccessAir struggled to fill planes, with most planes not even half full. The airline filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in November 1999, after just nine months of operations. A total of 14,000 enplanements resulted in an estimated $30 million in losses. Des Moines ...

Academy Airlines
An academy (Attic Greek: Ἀκαδήμεια; Koine Greek Ἀκαδημία) is an institution of secondary or tertiary higher learning (and generally also research or honorary membership). The name traces back to Plato's school of philosophy, founded approximately 385 BC at Akademia, a sanctuary of Athena, the goddess of wisdom and skill, north of Athens, Greece. The sacred space, dedicated to the goddess of wisdom, Athena, had formerly been an olive grove, hence the expression "the groves of Academe". In these gardens, the philosopher Plato conversed with followers. Plato developed his sessions into a method of teaching philosophy and in 387 BC, established what is known today as the Old Academy. By extension, ''academia'' has come to mean the ...
