Aidan O'Brien is a Gaelic football manager. He coached the Wexford county team. Early life He is originally a native of County Westmeath, He later moved to Adamstown, County Wexford. Career He was first approached to manage Wexford in 2007 after Paul Bealin resigned, but turned down the offer. He became the Wexford senior manager after Jason Ryan vacated the position. He held the position from October 2012 until August 2014, reaching the Leinster Senior Football Championship semi-finals on both occasions. Gaelic Football
Gaelic football ( ga, Peil Ghaelach; short name '), commonly known as simply Gaelic, GAA or Football is an Irish team sport. It is played between two teams of 15 players on a rectangular grass pitch. The objective of the sport is to score by kicking or punching the ball into the other team's goals (3 points) or between two upright posts above the goals and over a crossbar above the ground (1 point). Players advance the football up the field with a combination of carrying, bouncing, kicking, hand-passing, and soloing (dropping the ball and then toe-kicking the ball upward into the hands). In the game, two types of scores are possible: points and goals. A point is awarded for kicking or hand-passing the ball over the crossbar , signalled by the umpire raising a white flag. The Wexford Senior Football Championship is an annual Gaelic football competition contested by top-tier Wexford GAA clubs. David Power (Gaelic Football Manager)
David Power (born 1983) is an Irish Gaelic football manager. He has been manager of the Tipperary county team since 2019. Power previously managed Wexford. In 2020, he led Tipperary to a first Munster Senior Football Championship title for 85 years. Career Born in Kilsheelan, County Tipperary, Power played for the Kilsheelan–Kilcash club. Power went on to become involved in team management and coaching. An All-Ireland-winning manager with Tipperary in the minor grade, he has also taken charge of the Tipperary under-21 and junior teams. Power was the manager of the senior Wexford county team from 2014 until 2016. In September 2019, Power was named as the new manager of the Tipperary senior football team on a two-year term. The Leinster GAA Football Under-20 Championship, known simply as the Leinster Under-20 Championship, is an annual inter-county Gaelic football competition organised by the Leinster Council of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA). It is the highest inter-county football competition for male players between the ages of 17 and 20 in the province of Leinster. Horeswood GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club in County Wexford, Ireland. The club fields teams in Gaelic football, hurling, camogie and Ladies Gaelic football, and participates in competitions organized by Wexford GAA county board. Early history William K. Redmond's Football Club became the first club from the parish to affiliate to the Wexford GAA in 1889, when Martin Kenny paid 10 shillings to County Treasurer, John J. Kehoe. The following year, the name of the club was changed to Campile Football Club. At the time, the Senior Championship was the only competition the club could enter and Campile Football Club were drawn against Vinegar Hill in the 1st round. The Hogan Cup ( ga, Corn Uí Ógáin), also known as the All-Ireland Post Primary Schools Senior A Football Championship, is the top level Gaelic football championship for secondary schools (sometimes referred to as colleges) in Ireland. The competition itself is regularly referred to by the trophy's name. The 2022 champions are Naas C.B.S., who won the cup for the first time by defeating St Brendan's College in the final. St Jarlath's College, Tuam hold the record number of titles, winning their twelfth in 2002, and have appeared as runners-up in a further fourteen finals. New Ross (, formerly ) is a town in southwest County Wexford, Ireland. It is located on the River Barrow, near the border with County Kilkenny, and is around northeast of Waterford.
