Ahmed Saleh (table Tennis)
Ahmed Saleh (born 14 November 1979) is an Egyptian table tennis player. He competed at the 2008 and 2012 Summer Olympics. At the 2008 Games he took part in the men's individual event, losing in the second round to Damien Éloi of France. At the 2012 Summer Olympics he competed in the men's team event. 2019 African Games Ahmed Saleh competed in the 2019 African Games in Men's Singles, Men's Doubles, & Mixed Doubles. In Men's Singles, Saleh defeated Kurt Lingeveldt (4-1) in the Round of 16 to advance to the Quarterfinals. He was then eliminated by eventual winner Olajide Omotayo in a close match, losing 6–11 in the seventh set. In Men's Doubles, the Egyptian Team of Ahmed Saleh & finished 2nd. In Mixed Doubles, Saleh again teamed with a fellow Egyptian in Farah Abel-Aziz. They captured the silver medals. Table Tennis
Table tennis, also known as ping-pong and whiff-whaff, is a sport in which two or four players hit a lightweight ball, also known as the ping-pong ball, back and forth across a table using small solid rackets. It takes place on a hard table divided by a net. Except for the initial serve, the rules are generally as follows: Players must allow a ball played toward them to bounce once on their side of the table and must return it so that it bounces on the opposite side. A point is scored when a player fails to return the ball within the rules. Play is fast and demands quick reactions. Spinning the ball alters its trajectory and limits an opponent's options, giving the hitter a great advantage. Table tennis is governed by the worldwide organization International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF), founded in 1926. ITTF currently includes 226 member associations.
