Ahir Shah
Ahir Shah is a British comedian (b. 1990). He was nominated for the Edinburgh Comedy Award at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2017 and 2018, and was a finalist in the 2008 ''So You Think You're Funny?'' competition for new acts. He has been called "one of his generation's most eloquent comic voices". Early life Shah was born and raised in London. His parents, Vikram and Ulka, are originally from India. Shah's mother is a state primary school teacher. His grandmother, who had been living with the family in the UK, was deported to India when Shah was five years old. He attended Preston Manor comprehensive school in Wembley and went on to the University of Cambridge. Suzi Ruffell
Suzi Ruffell (born 18 January 1986) is a British comedian, writer, and actress. Early life Ruffell was born in Portsmouth to a working-class family. Her father buys and sells lorries and her mother became his assistant after raising Suzi and her older brother. Ruffell joined a youth drama group which had a major impact on her eventual career choice. She considered Victoria Wood, Catherine Tate, Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders to be her heroes. After Chichester College, she attended drama school at the Academy of Live and Recorded Arts in London, where she first performed stand-up. Ruffell was the first in her family to attend university. ''The News Quiz'' is a British topical panel game broadcast on BBC Radio 4. History ''The News Quiz'' was first broadcast in 1977 with Barry Norman as chairman. Subsequently, it was chaired by Barry Took from 1979 to 1981, Simon Hoggart from 1981 to 1986, Barry Took again from 1986 to 1995, and then again by Simon Hoggart from 1996 until March 2006.
