Agnes Baggett
Agnes Beahn Baggett (April 9, 1905 – December 15, 1992) was an American politician who served in the state of Alabama. She served as Alabama's Secretary of State from 1951 to 1955, 1963–1967 and 1975–1979. She also served as Alabama State Treasurer from 1959–1963 and 1967–1975. She was also the inaugural holder of the position of State Auditor. The secretary of state of Alabama is one of the constitutional officers of the U.S. state of Alabama. The office actually predates the statehood of Alabama, dating back to the Alabama Territory. James Elisha Folsom, Sr. (October 9, 1908 – November 21, 1987), commonly known as Jim Folsom or Big Jim Folsom, was an American politician who served as the 42nd governor of the U.S. state of Alabama, having served from 1947 to 1951, and again from 1955 to 1959.
