Gamma Ethniki
The Gamma Ethniki ( el, Γ΄ Εθνική Ερασιτεχνική Κατηγορία, C National Amateur Division) is the third highest football league in Greece. History The Gamma Ethniki began in 1965 as an amateur championship, while in 1983 it was changed to professional. Although not literally national (it is divided into ''North'' and ''South'' groups), Football League 2 is considered as a national division. On 3 August 2010, it was announced that the division had been renamed ''Football League 2''. From season 2013–14, the football League 2 is merged by fourth division championship (Delta Ethniki) and renamed again Gamma Ethniki. Georgios Pitharoulis ( el, Γεώργιος Πιθαρούλης; born 4 June 1990) is a Greek footballer who plays for Ierapetra. Club career Pitharoulis' career in the Super League began in 2007, when he signed a professional contract with OFI Crete. During the second half of the 2009–10 season, he competed for Panthrakikos in Super League Greece. He left in December 2010 Panthrakikos and joined to Beta Ethniki rival Panachaiki Patras. Giannis Arabatzis ( el, Γιάννης Αραμπατζής; born 28 May 1984) is a Greek former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper. 2021–22 Gamma Ethniki
The 2021-22 Gamma Ethniki is the 39th season since the official establishment of the championship in 1983, and the first after the reestablishment as the 3rd tier of the Greek Football. It will start on 23 October 2021. The Greek football league system includes four levels in which teams can possibly make it to the Super League 1, Greece's highest division of football.
