Advocates Of Science And Technology For The People
Advocates of Science and Technology for the People (Filipino: ''Samahan ng Nagtataguyod ng Agham at Teknolohiya Para sa Sambayanan'') or simply Agham is a non-governmental science advocacy organization based in the Philippines. Founded in 1999 by professors and students of the University of the Philippines Diliman, the group focuses its campaigns and community service in the areas of food security, public utilities, environment, national industrialization, science education, and the welfare of scientists in the country. The group is notable for its promotion of citizen science and is very vocal regarding many issues confronting the country. Agham regularly conducts fact finding missions of environmental disasters in cooperation with sectoral organizations, particularly peasants’ and workers’ groups. Alyansa ng mga Grupong Haligi ng Agham at Teknolohiya para sa Mamamayan (lit. Alliance of Groups Supporting Science and Technology for the People), commonly referred to simply by its acronym AGHAM (Filipino: ''Agham'' or "Science"), is a national sectoral organization in the Philippines pushing for the participation of the science and technology community in the legislative process. Agham Kot
Agham Kot ( ur, اگهم کوٹ ), historically known as Agham and today also called Aghamani or Aghamano, is a historical city and present-day ruin site located in Badin District, Sindh, Pakistan. It is located about 1.5 km northwest of the current town of Ghulab Khan Laghari, near the border with Hyderabad District, Pakistan, Hyderabad District. Said to be named after its 7th-century founder, the Lohana king Agham Lohana, Agham Kot historically lay on the right bank of the Dhoro, a branch of the Indus River that is now dried up. Because of this strategic location on an important waterway, Agham Kot was an important commercial centre in its heyday. Today, the site of Agham Kot consists of several mounds that rise 3-5 m above the surrounding farmland and are spread across an area of 200 acres. Agham Lohana was the powerful king of Brahmanabad, (in Sindh, modern Pakistan) contemporary and opponent to Chach of Alor. Agham was a Buddhist and belong to Lohana clan. Biography Agham Lohana is described in the Chachnama as a ruler of Brahmanabad; he is also noted to have controlled other adjacent territories known as ''Lakha'', '' Sama'' and '' Sahata'' He is estimated to have ruled around 632 AD.
