Afghan Cricket Team In Bangladesh In 2016–17
The Afghanistan cricket team toured Bangladesh in September and October 2016 to play three One Day Internationals (ODIs) matches. This was Afghanistan's first full series against a Test-playing side other than Zimbabwe and was the first bilateral series between the two sides. It was also Bangladesh's first home bilateral ODI series against an Associate Nation since Ireland toured in 2008. Ahead of the ODI series there was a fifty-over warm-up game between the Bangladesh Cricket Board XI and Afghanistan in Fatullah. Afghanistan won the warm-up match by 66 runs and Bangladesh won the ODI series 2–1. This was Bangladesh's sixth consecutive series victory in ODIs. Mashrafe Bin Mortaza ( bn, মাশরাফি বিন মর্তুজা ; born 5 October 1983), Popularly known as the 'Narail Express', is a Bangladeshi international cricketer and politician who is the former captain in all three formats of the game for the Bangladesh national cricket team and currently serves as a Member of Parliament of Narail-2 district. Widely considered as the greatest captain for Bangladesh in ODI and T20 formats of all time. He started this test debut against Zimbabwe in 2001. Imrul Kayes ( bn, ইমরুল কায়েস; born 2 February 1987) is a Bangladeshi international cricketer who played for Khulna Division as a left-hand batsman and occasional wicket-keeper. Shabbir Noori (born 23 February 1992) is an Afghan cricketer. Noori is a right-handed batsman and right-arm off break bowler who plays for the Afghanistan national cricket team. Nawroz Mangal (born Nawroz Khan Mangal) (نوروز خان منګل ; born 28 November 1984) is a former Afghanistan cricketer. Mangal is former captain of the Afghanistan national cricket team and also famous for leading Afghanistan to prestigious ODI status. Ihsanullah (born 28 December 1997) is an Afghan cricketer who is a right-handed opening batsmen. Amir Hamza Hotak (born 15 August 1991) is an Afghan cricketer. He is a right-handed batsman who bowls slow left-arm orthodox. Career Hotak was part of the Afghanistan Under-19 team which took part in the ICC Under-19 World Cup in New Zealand. He made one appearance, which came against Papua New Guinea Under-19s.
