René Cardona
René Cardona (October 8, 1905 in Havana, Cuba – April 25, 1988, in Mexico City) was a director, actor, producer, screenwriter, and film editor in the Golden Age of Mexican cinema. Biography René Cardona was born in Havana, Cuba, on October 8, 1905, and began medical school in Cuba, but due to the political problems of the island, he and his family moved to New York City in 1926, where he continued his studies. Economic circumstances experienced by his family caused him to leave his studies. He befriended famous actor Rodolfo Valentino and obtained work as an extra in several films, until 1929 when he produced, wrote, directed and starred in the first Spanish-language film made in Hollywood, ''Sombras habaneras'' (''Havana Shadows''). He also had the opportunity to work in various positions in the film industry such as second assistant, technical advisor and first assistant director, and learned film and lighting technique. Anita Blanch
Anita Blanch (July 26, 1910 – April 23, 1983) was a Spanish-born, Mexican actress, who worked in the Golden Age of Mexican cinema. She was nominated for an Ariel Award from the Mexican Academy of Film three times and won the Best Supporting Actress Award from Diosa de Plata (Silver Goddess Award) in 1963. Biography Ana María Blanch Ruiz was born on 26 July 1910 in Sagunto, Valencia. Ana, who went by the name of "Anita" and her sister, actress Isabelita Blanch, who both had interest in the theater, arrived in Mexico in the 1920s. Blanch specialized in comedic plays and her theatrical debut was in a performance of “La cabalgata de los reyes”. Blanch was the first star of the prestigious "Ideal Theater" in Mexico City. Enrique García Álvarez (actor)
Enrique García Álvarez (1896–1971) was a Spanish-Mexican actor. Early life and career García Álvarez was born in Langreo, Asturias in 1896. He began his career in 1922. In 1938, near the end of the Spanish Civil War, he fled to Paris, France, where he was helped by Maurice Chevalier, with which help he went into exile Mexico, where he would establish and live until shortly before his death. He debuted in the cinema in Mexico in 1940, where he would work with Cantinflas and Luis Buñuel in the latter's Mexican phase. He founded the magazine ''La Voz del Actor'' and received the Diosas de Plata award (from the Cinematographic Journalists of Mexico, PECIME) for his role in Buñuel's '' The Exterminating Angel'' (1962).Arjona, p. 115. Manuel Antonio Capetillo Villaseñor (15 April 1926 – 5 May 2009) was a Mexican film actor, bullfighter, singer, and songwriter from Ixtlahuacán de los Membrillos, Jalisco. On 5 May 2009, Capetillo died of respiratory insufficiency, in Chacala, Nayarit. The wake was held in Guadalajara, Jalisco, and his body also laid to rest in the capital. Although the media said that the cause of his death was intoxication and a problem with ulcers, the actor's son confirmed that a respiratory insufficiency was the cause of his death. Florencio Castelló (1905 – 23 August 1986) was a Spanish actor, known for participating in the Golden Age of Mexican cinema, acting alongside personalities of Mexican cinema such as Pedro Infante and Cantinflas. He usually played roles of Spaniard with an Andalusian accent. He left Spain in 1936 fleeing the civil war in his country, joining a theater company in which he performed Andalusian works, which toured throughout Latin America until in 1939 he arrived in Mexico.
