Adolf Fredrik's Youth Choir
Adolf Fredrik's Youth Choir is a Swedish co-educational choir comprising singers from the ages of 16 to 25. The choir was founded in 2000. During recent years, the choir has performed both in Sweden and abroad. It has also received awards at international choir festivals. The choir is a part of the Adolf Fredrik's Church in Stockholm and was founded by Karin Bäckström, one of the parish's organists and choral directors. The singers have a thoroughbred background, involving a high level of weekly music training. At present, most of the members are studying music at music colleges in the Stockholm area. The choir's main role is to sing at parish services and concerts. During recent years they have made critically acclaimed performances of Mozart's ''Requiem'' and Vivaldi's ''Gloria''. Tuneful and pastoral in style, the neoromantic ''God in Disguise'' is a setting of a 1933 narrative poem by the Swedish poet Hjalmar Gullberg; Gullberg's poem is itself based on the prologue to a Hellenic play, in which the god Apollo is exiled from Olympus and condemned to mortal servitude as a flute-playing Thessalian shepherd. Lars-Erik Larsson
Lars-Erik Vilner Larsson (15 May 190827 December 1986) was a Swedish composer, conductor, radio producer, and educator. He wrote three of the most popular works (each a suite) in Swedish art music: ''A Winter's Tale'' (; 1937–1938), the '' Pastoral Suite'' (; 1938), and '' God in Disguise'' (; 1940). Other notable works by Larsson include three symphonies, a sinfonietta, and numerous concertante works. Biography Larsson was born in Åkarp in 1908, the son of a factory worker and a nurse. He studied with Ellberg at the Stockholm Conservatory (1925–1929) and with Alban Berg and Fritz Reuter in Vienna and Leipzig (1929–1930), then worked for Swedish Radio and taught at the Stockholm Conservatory (1947–1959) and Uppsala University, where he held the position as Director musices (1961–1966).
