"Adios Amor" is a 1982 hit German-language song by Andy Borg on Papagayo/ EMI Electrola. It was Borg's debut single, and was No. 1 in Germany for five weeks 27 August–24 September, remaining in the charts for a total 39 weeks. The single was also No. 1 in Austria, where it spent 30 weeks in the charts, and No. 2 in Switzerland. The album ''Adiós Amor'' in the same year also went to the top of the album charts in both Germany and Austria. It remains Borg's signature song. Adolf Andreas Speyer (born 02 November 1960 in Floridsdorf, Vienna), best known by his stage name Andy Borg, is an Austrian Schlager singer and TV presenter. Electrola is a German record label and subsidiary of Universal Music Group. Based in Munich, its roster has included Chumbawamba, Matthias Reim, Helene Fischer, Brings, Höhner and Santiano. History On 8 May 1925 the British Gramophone Company founded Electrola GmbH in Nowawes near Berlin and received its record licence in December. The ''ZDF-Hitparade'', or ''Hitparade'' for short, by German TV channel ZDF, was one of the most popular and most well-known music television series presenting mostly German Schlager.
