Ademir Alcântara
Ademir Bernardes Alcântara (born 17 December 1962) is a Brazilian retired footballer who played as attacking midfielder. Career Born in Mandaguaçu, Paraná, Alcântara started in Brazil lower leagues. After being top-scorer of the 1984 Campeonato Gaúcho, he joined Internacional, staying two seasons before moving to Portugal, joining Vitória Guimarães. In Guimarães, in his first year, he partnered with Paulinho Cascavel to help Minho side overachieved for a final third place, and qualified for the UEFA Cup. His second year was even better, scoring 15 league goals as Guimarães nearly avoid relegation. Subsequently, he caught the eye of Portuguese powerhouses S.L. Benfica and F.C. Porto. In what some consider, the beginning of the hatred rivalry between the two. Alcântara chose Benfica and Porto exacted revenge by signing Dito and Rui Àguas. The 1987–88 UEFA Cup was won by Bayer Leverkusen on penalty kicks over Español. It was the third season of English clubs being barred from this and indeed all European competitions as the sequel of the Heysel disaster of May 1985. The 1993–94 UEFA Cup was won by Internazionale on aggregate over Austria Salzburg. Juventus were the defending champions, but got eliminated in the quarter-finals by Cagliari. Yugoslavia was banned under UN embargo: its places were divided between former USSR, Romania, and former Czechoslovakia. Valdo Cândido Filho (born 12 January 1964), simply known as Valdo, is a Brazilian former footballer who played as a central midfielder, and a current manager of Congo national football team. In a senior career which spanned more than two decades, he played professionally – other than in his own country – in Portugal, France and Japan. Having appeared more than 40 times for Brazil, Valdo represented the nation in two World Cups and as many Copa América tournaments. Rui Águas (footballer)
José Rui Lopes Águas (born 28 April 1960) is a Portuguese former professional footballer who played as a striker, and is a current manager. He had highly successful spells at two of the biggest clubs in Portugal, Benfica and Porto, amassing Primeira Liga totals of 292 games and 121 goals over 12 seasons. Águas represented the Portugal national team at the 1986 World Cup. Playing career Club Born in Lisbon, Águas started his career with amateurs Real Desportivo Benfica, and later went on to represent G.D. Sesimbra in the Terceira Divisão and Atlético Clube de Portugal in Segunda Divisão. He turned professional in the 1983–84 season, when he signed for Portimonense S.C. of the Primeira Liga. Moving to S.L. Benfica in 1985, Águas scored an average of 12 goals in his first spell, helping the capital club to the league on three occasions.
