George Henry Male Addison
George Henry Male Addison (1857–1922) was an Australian architect and artist. Many of his buildings are now heritage-listed. Early life Addison was born on 23 March 1857 in Llanelly, Wales, the son of Edward James Addison (1820–1863), a Wesleyan minister and Jane Roswell née Male (1833–1860). His father undertook missionary work in West Africa but it damaged his health and he died in 1863 and Addison was raised by his maternal grandfather, Henry Male in Somerset. His sister, Emily Jane Addison (1855–?) worked as a governess to the family of Alexander McArthur in Brixton and, in 1834 married their son John Percival McArthur (1858–1901). He was articled to architect Edmund Isles Hubbard at Rotherham and studied at the Royal Academy in London. Addison immigrated to South Australia to work on a number of large government projects. Leslie Corrie
Leslie Gordon Corrie (1859–1918) was an architect and the List of Mayors and Lord Mayors of Brisbane, mayor of Brisbane, Queensland from 1902 to 1903. A number of his architectural works are now heritage-listed. Early life Leslie Gordon Corrie was born in Hobart, Tasmania in 1859, the son of James Afleck Corrie of Kirkcudbright and Mary Campbell of Edinburgh. He worked as an architect, first in Hobart and then in Launceston, Tasmania, Launceston. In 1886, he moved to Brisbane. From 1888 to 1892, he was in partnership with his former employer, Henry Hunter (architect), Henry Hunter trading as "Hunter and Corrie". From 1898 to 1905, he was in partnership with G.H.M. Franklyn Vale Homestead
Franklyn Vale Homestead is a heritage-listed homestead at Franklin Vale Road, Mount Mort, City of Ipswich, Queensland, Australia. It was built in the early 1870s. It was added to the Queensland Heritage Register on 21 October 1992. History The present Franklyn Vale Homestead was erected in the early 1870s for Mr & Mrs Edward Crace, son-in-law and daughter of Henry Mort, the owner of the property. It replaced an 1849 slab dwelling, which then was used as a stables until demolished c.1949. Originally, Franklyn Vale Station was part of the Laidley Plains leasehold which, along with Beau Desert, was taken up as a sheep run in 1843 by NSW squatter JP Robinson. The Laidley Plains run extended across the Franklin Valley, named after Sir John Franklin, Lieutenant-Governor of Van Diemen's Land 1837–43, and identified on Dixon's 1842 map of the Moreton Bay district.
