Addiction
Addiction is a neuropsychological disorder characterized by a persistent and intense urge to engage in certain behaviors, one of which is the usage of a drug, despite substantial harm and other negative consequences. Repetitive drug use often alters brain function in ways that perpetuate craving, and weakens (but does not completely negate) self-control. This phenomenon – drugs reshaping brain function – has led to an understanding of addiction as a brain disorder with a complex variety of psychosocial as well as neurobiological (and thus involuntary) factors that are implicated in addiction's development. Classic signs of addiction include compulsive engagement in rewarding stimuli, ''preoccupation'' with substances or behavior, and continued use despite negative consequences. Habits and patterns associated with addiction are typically characterized by immediate gratification (short-term reward), coupled with delayed deleterious effects (long-term costs). Examp ...

The Adicts
The Adicts are a British punk rock band from Ipswich, Suffolk, England. One of the most popular punk rock bands in the 1980s, they were often in the indie charts during that decade. The Adicts originated as The Afterbirth in late 1975 but never had any music or played any shows. They later became The Pinz. They soon changed their name to the Adicts and became known for their distinctive '' Clockwork Orange'' "droog" image. "Droog" is a noun derived from the fictional Nadsat language, meaning "friend" (a combination of Russian and English). This image, along with their urgent, uptempo music and light-hearted lyrics, helped set them apart from other punk bands. In the 1980s, they temporarily changed their name to Fun Adicts (for a children's TV appearance) and then ADX (after signing to a major label). Their music has catchy melodies and lyrics, often featuring extra instruments and sound clips - such as carousel music in "How Sad", violin played by Derick Cook in "Joker in th ...

Powertrippin'
''Powertrippin is the third studio album by Scottish rock band The Almighty. It was released in the United Kingdom in 1993 by Polydor Records and was the band's final studio album for that label. It was the band's first album to feature guitarist Pete Friesen, who replaced founding guitarist Tantrum. Friesen contributed to the songwriting and was a major part of the new sound presented on this album, introducing a heavier, riff-based grunge sound compared to the punk leanings of earlier efforts. The subject of the cover art is taken from the artwork 'Jet Age Man'' by Ralph Morse, which featured on the cover of ''Life'' magazine in December 1954. Three singles were released from the album in multiple formats in 1993. "Addiction" (CD, 12" vinyl), "Out of Season" (2-CD, 7" vinyl & 12" vinyl) and "Over the Edge" (CD, cassette, 12" & 7" vinyl). The album was re-released in the United Kingdom and later in Japan with a bonus disc which contained a live show from August 22, 1992 at Don ...

Moving Target (Simon Townshend Album)
''Moving Target'' is the début album by the band Moving Target, headed by frontman Simon Townshend, the younger brother of The Who's guitarist Pete Townshend. The album, released by the label Polydor Records in 1985, Moving Target was Moving Target's only release, and was a commercial failure. It also marked the end of the career for the band, but is often counted among Townshend's discography, sometimes credited as a solo effort (since the band Moving Target formed and disbanded around this single effort). The album was produced by Neil Kernon, a Grammy Award-winning producer who has contributed to over 40 Gold and Platinum records. This album is one of three albums produced by Kernon in 1985. The band "Moving Target" features Simon Townshend playing guitar, Andy Shillito playing bass guitar, Dane Morrell playing drums and Paul Rogers playing keyboards. The band once played live at the rock club The Ritz in New York City on which they played the tracks "Meet You", "Frustrated ...

Doja Cat
Amala Ratna Zandile Dlamini (born October 21, 1995), known professionally as Doja Cat ( ), is an American rapper and singer. Born and raised in Los Angeles, California, she began making and releasing music on SoundCloud as a teenager. Her song " So High" caught the attention of Kemosabe and RCA Records, with which she signed a joint record deal at the age of 17, subsequently releasing her debut EP ''Purrr!'' in 2014. After a hiatus from releasing music and the uneventful rollout of her debut studio album, '' Amala'' (2018), Doja Cat earned viral success as an internet meme with her 2018 single " Mooo!", a novelty song in which she makes satirical claims about being a cow. Capitalizing on her growing popularity, she released her second studio album, ''Hot Pink'', in the following year. It reached the top 10 of the US ''Billboard'' 200 and spawned the single "Say So", which topped the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 chart following the release of a remix featuring Nicki Minaj. This alb ...

Late Registration
''Late Registration'' is the second studio album by American rapper and producer Kanye West. It was released on August 30, 2005, through Def Jam Recordings and Roc-A-Fella Records. West recorded the album over the course of a year during sessions held at studios in Hollywood and New York City, in collaboration with Jon Brion. The recording sessions also featured guest contributions from Adam Levine, Jamie Foxx, Common, Brandy, Jay-Z, and Nas, among others. West's production for ''Late Registration'' departed from the sped-up soul samples of his debut studio album, ''The College Dropout'' (2004), moving towards a more elaborate and orchestral style with a 20-piece ensemble. Drawing creative inspiration from alternative acts such as Fiona Apple and Portishead, he experimented with musical shifts, string arrangements, and a variety of instruments not usually associated with hip hop, including a celesta, harpsichord, and Chinese bells. In an effort to write authentic yet relatab ...
