Adawro Exclosure
Adawro is an exclosure located in the Dogu'a Tembien ''woreda'' of the Tigray Region in Ethiopia. The area has been protected by the local community since 1994. Environmental characteristics * Average slope gradient: 70% * Aspect: the exclosure is oriented towards the northeast * Minimum altitude: 2635 metres * Maximum altitude: 2705 metres * Lithology: Basalt Management As a general rule, cattle ranging and wood harvesting are not allowed. The grasses are harvested once yearly and taken to the homesteads of the village to feed livestock. Physical soil and water conservation has been implemented to enhance infiltration, and vegetation growth. Lim'at
Lim’at is a '' tabia'' in the Dogu'a Tembien district of the Tigray Region of Ethiopia. The ''tabia'' centre is in Maygwa village, located approximately 8 km to the southwest of the ''woreda'' town Hagere Selam. Geography The ''tabia'' stretches down from the Tsatsen plateau (2810 m a.s.l.), across the main road towards Zeleqwa (Upper Tanqwa) river (2270 m a.s.l.). Acacia Saligna
''Acacia saligna'', commonly known by various names including coojong, golden wreath wattle, orange wattle, blue-leafed wattle, Western Australian golden wattle, and, in Africa, Port Jackson willow, is a small tree in the family (biology), family Fabaceae. Phaeozem
A Phaeozem in the World Reference Base for Soil Resources (WRB) is a dark soil with a high Soil#Base saturation percentage, base status, but without a secondary carbonates within one metre of the soil surface. Phaeozems correlate with the Udolls and Aquolls (Mollisols) of the USDA soil taxonomy. These soils are found mainly in humid and sub-humid tall-grass steppes; there are extensive areas of them in the United States, Argentina and China. Phaeozems form from unconsolidated sediments such as loess and glacial till and typically have organic matter contents of about 5% and a Soil pH, pH of 5–7. Intensive agricultural use is widespread and includes wheat, soybean and cotton production and improved pastures for cattle. On younger trees it is pale yellowish-brown, peeling off in papery wads. Young twigs are softly hairy. Thorns are aligned in straight pairs at nodes. Dogu'a Tembien (, "Upper Tembien", sometimes transliterated as Degua Tembien) is a woreda in Tigray Region, Ethiopia. It is named in part after the former province of Tembien. Nowadays, the mountainous district is part of the Southeastern Tigray Zone. The administrative centre of this woreda is Hagere Selam.
