Bihar (; ) is a state in eastern India. It is the 2nd largest state by population in 2019, 12th largest by area of , and 14th largest by GDP in 2021. Bihar Assembly elections were held twice in the year 2005. There was a fractured verdict in the ''February 2005 Assembly Election''. Since no government could be formed in Bihar, fresh elections were held in ''October–November'' the same year. The Janata Dal (United) emerged as the majority seat winner after the Oct- Nov 2005 election, and ruled along with the Bharatiya Janata Party (2nd Highest) as part of the National Democratic Alliance. Janata Dal (United) ("People’s Party (United)”) abbreviated as JD(U) is an Indian political party with political presence mainly in eastern and north-eastern India. Birendra Bir Bikram Shah Dev ( ne, श्री ५ महाराजाधिराज वीरेन्द्र वीर विक्रम शाह देव ) (28 December 1945 – 1 June 2001) was the tenth Shah Ruler and the King of Nepal from 1972 until his assassination in 2001. He was the eldest son of King Mahendra. The Rashtriya Janata Dal ( RJD; translation: ''National People's Party'') is an Indian political party, based in the states of Bihar, Jharkhand and Kerala. Brij Behari Prasad
Brij Behari Prasad, also spelled Brij Bihari Prasad (died 13 June 1998) was an Indian politician. A member of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) (then Janata Dal), Prasad served as Minister for Science and Technology in the Government of Bihar. He was arrested for alleged involvement in corrupt admissions to technical institutes and was murdered on 13 June 1998 at the Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences in Patna, where he was undergoing treatment . It was claimed that his death was in retribution for his involvement in assassination of gangster Chhottan Shukla and five other people, who were killed on 4 December 1994, while returning home from a campaign organised in context of 1995 Bihar Legislative Assembly elections.
