Adam Alexander (born July 11, 1973) is a television announcer with Fox Sports. He currently is the play-by-play announcer for Fox's NASCAR Xfinity Series coverage and a host of ''NASCAR Race Hub''. He previously was the play-by-play for ''NASCAR on TNT'' from 2010 to 2014 and prior to that was a pit reporter for TNT, '' NASCAR on Speed'' and ''Motor Racing Network''. He also has called college football and college basketball games for Fox. Career Alexander began his career at television station WEVV in Evansville, Indiana, and he concurrently served as a public address announcer for the Tri-State Speedway and also called games for the Evansville Purple Aces men's basketball team. Adam Rankin Alexander (November 1, 1781 – November 1, 1848) was an American slave owner and politician who represented Tennessee in the United States House of Representatives. Biography Alexander was born in Rockbridge County, Virginia on November 1, 1781 to Oliver and Mary ( Craig) Alexander. Educator Eben Alexander was his grandson. Career During the War of 1812, Alexander served from October 4, 1813, to January 4, 1814. He served as a private in Captain William Dooley's Company; and as a Lieutenant and Quartermaster in Thomas McCrory's 2nd Regiment, West Tennessee Militia. He married Leah Reagan, a Virginia native, on March 26, 1805, in Blount County, Tennessee. Alexander worked as a surveyor, and afterwards, he was the register of the land office for the tenth surveyors' district in Madison County, Tennessee. Adam Alexander Armstrong, OBE, MC (1 July 1909 – 22 February 1982), commonly known as Bill Armstrong, was an Australian politician. Born in Deniliquin, New South Wales, he was a grazier before serving in the military 1939–45 (during World War II). Subsequently, he became involved in local politics, serving on Conargo Shire Council. In 1965 he was elected to the Australian House of Representatives in the by-election for the seat of Riverina that followed the resignation of Hugh Roberton; Armstrong was a member of the Country Party. Adam Alexander Dawson (20 March 1913 – 29 January 2010) was a noted film and television editor. Biography Dawson was born at 33 Royal Terrace, Edinburgh, son of Alexander Bashall Dawson and Aileen Twentyman Smithers. He was a descendant of both the Dawson whisky family of St Magdalenes Distillery, Linlithgow, and the Gillon whisky family of Leith. Dawson was educated at Edinburgh Academy, Stowe School, and The Queen's College, Oxford where he was President of the Oxford University Film Society. He joined the Royal Berkshire Regiment and from 1942 to 1946, he edited and produced many training films for the Army while in India. He subsequently worked for Nettlefold Studios and for the BBC as a Film Editor. Adam Alexander, professionally known as Demo Taped, is a singer-songwriter from Atlanta, Georgia, known for his single "Game On." Background Early life and influences A native of Atlanta, Demo Taped started taking piano lessons at age 4 and began writing his own songs at age 7. His father, a bass player, introduced him to many genres and musicians at a young age, and credits his parents as being his main influence in his music career. He started using Garageband to create music tracks with his written lyrics. Other musical influences include Herbie Hancock Spazzkid, Flying Lotus, Daedelus, Nosaj Thing, Baths, and Tokimonsta. Adam Alexander is a British horticulturalist, author, and filmmaker. He is known as the Seed Detective. Biography Alexander's first business was market gardening on part of his parents' farm. This business failed and he went into film and television production. Alexander is an advocate and practitioner of seed saving. He is a member of the British Seed Guardian project who work to collect and save rare seeds. Alexander is critical of the impact that monocultures have on agriculture and the larger environment.
