Active Advance Pro Wrestling Openweight Championship
The 2AW Openweight Championship is a professional wrestling world championship created and promoted by the Japanese promotion Active Advance Pro Wrestling, being sanctioned as the promotion's top championship. There have been a total of eleven reigns shared between eight different champions. The current champion is Ayato Yoshida who is in his third reign. Title history In April 2019, the promotion (previously named Kaientai Dojo) announced that they were rebranding as Active Advance Pro Wrestling (2AW). This came as the company attempted to rebrand itself after the Taka Michinoku scandal, also changing its colors to black and white. That same night, young wrestler Ayato Yoshida won the Strongest-K Championship, symbolically leading the company into the future. Ayato Yoshida
is a Japanese professional wrestler currently working for the Japanese promotion Active Advance Pro Wrestling. Professional wrestling career Kaientai Dojo/Active Advance Pro Wrestling (2015-present) Yoshida is best known for his time with Active Advance Pro Wrestling. He made his professional wrestling debut in the promotion before the Kaientai Dojo rebranding, on November 1, 2015, at ''K-DOJO Club-K Super In Korakuen'', show where he teamed up with Dinosaur Takuma and defeated Go Asakawa and Kyu Mogami. Kengo Mashimo
is a Japanese professional wrestler currently working for Active Advance Pro Wrestling (2AW). His style is a combination of submission wrestling and hard, martial arts style strikes. Professional wrestling career Kengo Mashimo debuted in Puerto Rico in 2001 as one of the first Kaientai Dojo (K-Dojo)'s students. Once Kaientai Dojo arrived in Japan in April 2002, Mashimo started as a wrestler using a grappling and shoot style, finishing his opponents quickly by KO or TKO before starting a short series of matches with Isami which Mashimo lost 3-1, but in doing so, won a lot of crowd support for his fire and spirit. Shigehiro Irie
is a Japanese professional wrestler and former mixed martial artist best known for his work in DDT Pro-Wrestling (DDT). Irie has also competed for All Japan Pro Wrestling (AJPW), Big Japan Pro Wrestling (BJW), and a number of North American independent promotions in the past. Early life Irie was born in Osaka. is a Japanese professional wrestler better known by the ring name . Trained by Taka Michinoku, Takizawa has spent most of his career working for his Kaientai Dojo promotion. From December 2011 to June 2012, Takizawa was signed to WWE, working in its developmental territory Florida Championship Wrestling under the ring name Jiro. Taka Michinoku
(born October 26, 1973), better known by his ring name (with his first name usually stylized in all capital letters), is a Japanese professional wrestler and former mixed martial artist. Michinoku is known in North America for his work for the World Wrestling Federation (WWF, now WWE) where he had the first ever WWF Light Heavyweight Championship reign recognized by the promotion. Michinoku is the founder and former promoter of Kaientai Dojo (now Active Advance Pro Wrestling), where he also primarily wrestled until 2019. Active Advance Pro Wrestling
Active Advance Pro Wrestling (2AW) is a Japanese professional wrestling promotion and training facility originally owned and promoted by Taka Michinoku. The promotion places emphasis on a style of puroresu that combines high-flying, technical wrestling, and martial arts. The promotion was originally called Kaientai Dojo (or K-DOJO for short). This style was largely contributed to by Taka Michinoku and is gaining popularity in Japan and abroad. K-DOJO is also heavily influenced by American-style wrestling and places a large amount of importance on presentation.
