Act Of Congress (music Group)
Act of Congress is a Birmingham, Alabama based singer-songwriter group. They play only acoustic instruments in their music, giving them a sound that is unique, meshing several genres of music together. Their first performance of the debut album ''Declaration'' sold out at WorkPlay Theater in Birmingham in 2008. History The group's founding members, Chris Griffin and Adam Wright, met in college. Wright, a pianist, and Griffin, a guitar player, were interested in converging the sounds of progressive bluegrass with softer pop melodies on acoustic instruments. In 2006, Tim Carroll, an upright bass player, was added to play instrumentation for Maylene and the Sons of Disaster's second album. Acoustic music is music that solely or primarily uses instruments that produce sound through acoustic means, as opposed to electric or electronic means. The genre derives its name from the band Bill Monroe and the Blue Grass Boys. Maylene And The Sons Of Disaster
Maylene and the Sons of Disaster is an American heavy metal band from Birmingham, Alabama. The group were founded in 2004, shortly after vocalist Dallas Taylor's departure from Underoath. In 2005, Maylene and the Sons of Disaster signed to Mono Vs Stereo and released their self-titled debut album. The band name and concept are based on the legend of the criminal gang of Ma Barker and her sons, noting that evil lifestyles will be met with divine justice. In August of that year, the group hinted they would be working on their Ferret Records debut in October with an expected release date of early 2007. The Alabama Symphony Orchestra is a major orchestra based in Birmingham, Alabama. The orchestra's resident and principal conductor is Christopher Confessore. The Orchestra was first formed in April 1921 but had to close because of financial issues in 1993. It re-opened in 1997 after substantial fundraising.
