Ahmed Achour
Ahmed Achour ( ar, أحمد عاشور) was a Tunisian conductor. Biography Achour was born in Hammam Lif. After studying law, he studied music and violin at the Tunis Conservatory of Music in Tunis in 1967 where he obtained the diploma of Arabic music and the Presidential Award for violin. He continued his musical studies at the Schola Cantorum in Paris, where he received degrees in several specialties: harmony, counterpoint, conducting and orchestral writing. When he returned to Tunis in 1971, he joined the Tunisian Symphony Orchestra as first violin. In 1979, he became responsible for directing and administering and over the years worked with many international musicians. He then assumed the direction of the National Conservatory of Music in Tunis and the International Festival of Popular Arts. Achour has presented numerous concerts with symphony orchestras in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Paris, Brive-la-Gaillarde, Rabat, Algiers and produced operas by Carl Maria von Weber, Abu H ...

Dar Ben Achour
Dar Ben Achour ( ar, دار بن عاشور), previously known as Dar Bouattour is a palace in the medina of Tunis, built in the 17th century and located in the Pasha Street. Nowadays, it houses the library of the city of Tunis. It was occupied by Mohammed Aziz Bouattour, the Prime Minister of Tunisia from 1882 to 1907 and grandfather of Muhammad al-Tahir ibn Ashur. He bequeathed the house to the latter before it returned to Mohamed Fadhel Ben Achour. The house was acquired in 1970 by the municipality of Tunis. After a restoration, it is transformed in 1983 into a library whose mission is to collect and preserve historical documents related to the city of Tunis and Tunisians. In 1990, it also became the headquarters of the Tunisian Association of Monuments and Sites. Mohamed Fadhel Ben Achour ( ar, محمد الفاضل بن عاشور; October 16, 1909 – April 20, 1970) was a Tunisian theologian, writer, trade unionist, intellectual and patriot born in La Marsa. Lotfi Achour (Arabic: لطفي عاشور) is a Tunisian writer, producer and director for theater and cinema. He is the author of more than 25 theater productions on different stages (London, Paris, Festival In d'Avignon, Tunis, Carthage, Hammamet, Byblos, Kinshasa, Yaoundé…). His last show was co-produced by the Royal Shakespeare Company for the 2012 Olympic Games London.
