Abdullah Rasheed
Abdullah Rasheed (1952) ( ar, عبد الله رشيد) from Male, Maldives served as the Regional Director of the Asia-Pacific Region of the World Scout Bureau, and serves as a Consultant at World Scout Bureau Kuala Lumpur Office. Rasheed is a member of the ISGF regional board for Asia Pacific region. Rasheed attended Majeediyya School, where he joined the Sea Scouts at the end of the 1960s. He served as the Chief Commissioner of the Scout Association of Maldives Scouting was introduced to the Maldives in 1956, according to the National Centre for Linguistic and Historical Research. Asia-Pacific Scout Region (World Organization Of The Scout Movement)
The Asia-Pacific Scout Region is the divisional office of the World Scout Bureau of the World Organization of the Scout Movement, headquartered in Makati, Philippines, with satellite offices in Australia and Japan. The Asia-Pacific Region services Scouting in the land area of Asia south of Siberia and east of Central Asia, and the bulk of the Pacific Basin, with the exception of the Federated States of Micronesia, the Marshall Islands and Palau, which are under the Interamerican Region by way of the Aloha Council of the Boy Scouts of America. The Asia-Pacific Scout Region has witnessed the births and rebirths of national Scout organizations since the region was founded in 1956. The World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM ) is the largest international Scouting organization. WOSM has 173 members. These members are recognized national Scout organizations, which collectively have around 43 million participants. WOSM was established in 1922, and has its operational headquarters at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and its legal seat in Geneva, Switzerland. It is the counterpart of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS). The WOSM's current stated mission is "to contribute to the education of young people, through a value system based on the Scout Promise and Scout Law, to help build a better world where people are self-fulfilled as individuals and play a constructive role in society". International Scout And Guide Fellowship
The International Scout and Guide Fellowship (ISGF) is a worldwide organization of adults in support of Scouting and Guiding. The International Scout and Guide Fellowship is open to former members of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS) and the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM), and to other adults who wish to support Scouting. It was created in 1953 under the name of ''International Fellowship of Former Scouts and Guides'' (''IFOFSAG''). ISGF is supported by WOSM and WAGGGS, and it has members in 75 countries presently. Furthermore, there are members of ''Central Branch'' (individual members or groups) in 32 countries. Majeediyya School
Majeediyya School (Dhivehi: މަޖީދިއްޔާ ސުކޫލް ) is the first Maldivian government school, located in Malé, Maldives. It was a single gender school that used to teach only boys students to the secondary level of education until the introduction of Primary Education in 2010 when the school was opened to both genders. English medium is followed in teaching with the exception of Dhivehi and Islam. History Majeediyya school was founded in 1927 under the name Madharusathul Salahiyya. The school name was changed to Madhrasathul Saniyyathul Hukoomathul Mahaldheebiyya in 1928. The first principal of the school was Husain Salaahuddin. Mohamed Ameen Didi was Principal from 1946 to 1953 and it was during this time that the school was renamed "Madhrasathul Majeediyya". The Scout Association Of Maldives
Scouting was introduced to the Maldives in 1956, according to the National Centre for Linguistic and Historical Research. Initially, this Scouting wasn't carried out as a structured organization and very little is known about the history of Scouting of that period. Along with the introduction of English medium education in Male’, various co-curricular activities also had its beginning. In May 1961 the First Male’ Scout Group was formed in Majeediyya School. The Group began with Cub Scouting and later in the same year the junior Scout section began. In 1963, the Scout Group was registered at The Boy Scouts Association Imperial Headquarters by its Commonwealth commissioner, Charles Dymoke Green Jr. In this period, the chief commissioner of Maldives was the late Mr. Ahmed Zaki.
