Abdulali bey Amirjanov Shirali bey oghlu ( az, Əbdüləli bəy Əmircanov Şirəli bəy oğlu; 1870–1948) was an Azerbaijani people, Azerbaijani statesman who served as Ministry of Finance (Azerbaijan), Minister of Finance, Ministry of Taxes (Azerbaijan), State Controller of Azerbaijan Democratic Republic, and was a member of Azerbaijani National Council and later National Assembly of Azerbaijan, Parliament of Azerbaijan. Early years Amirjanov was born in Shaki, Azerbaijan, Shaki, Azerbaijan. He graduated from Alexander Pedagogical University in Tbilisi in 1888. He then worked as a teacher in Shaki and Lenkoran. Lankaran ( az, Lənkəran, ) is a city in Azerbaijan, on the coast of the Caspian Sea, near the southern border with Iran. As of 2021, the city had a population of 89,300. It is next to, but independent of, Lankaran District. The city forms a distinct first-order division of Azerbaijan. Etymology The old form of the name was "Langarkanan" that in Persian means "the place of pulling up the anchor(s)" : "Langar" (, anchor) + "kan" (, to pull) + "an"(, suffix of places). Azerbaijani Muslims
More than 90% of the population of Azerbaijan is Muslim. (Estimates include 96.9% Muslim, 93.4% (Berkley Center, 2012), 99.2% (Pew Research Center, 2009).) The rest of the population adheres to other faiths or are non-religious, although they are not officially represented. The Red Army invasion of Azerbaijan, also known as the Sovietization or Soviet invasion of Azerbaijan, was a military campaign carried out by the 11th Army of Soviet Russia in April 1920 to install a new Soviet government in the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic. The invasion coincided with the anti-government insurrection staged by the local Azerbaijani Bolsheviks in the capital, Baku, and led to the dissolution of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic and the establishment of the Azerbaijan Soviet Socialist Republic. Behbud Khan Javanshir ( az, Behbud xan Cavanşir Azad xan oğlu; 25 July 1878 – 18 July 1921) was an Azerbaijani politician, diplomat, Minister of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan Democratic Republic and Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry. Early life Behbud Khan Javanshir was born on July 25, 1878 in Azad Qaraqoyunlu village of Javanshir Uyezd of Elisabethpol Governorate. His father Azad Khan Javanshir was the great grandson of the founder of Karabakh Khanate Panah Ali Khan. From 1890 through 1898, he studied at ''Tiflis Realny School'' where he learned German. In 1902, Javanshir enrolled in Freiberg University of Mining and Technology, graduating cum laude in 1906. He then moved to London where he learned English.
