Abdikani Mohamed Wa'ays
Abdikani Mohamed Wa'ays (died May 10, 2020) was a veteran Somali diplomat. He was serving concurrently as Somalia's ambassador to Egypt and the Arab League at the time of his death in May 2020 from COVID-19. Wa'ays died from COVID-19 at a hospital in Kuwait on May 10, 2020. He had been hospitalized for a week prior to his death after testing positive for COVID-19 during the COVID-19 pandemic in Kuwait, though it was unknown why he originally traveled to Kuwait for treatment. He had had diabetes as well. Khalif Mumin Tohow (died 12 April 2020) was a Somali politician. Tohow served as the state Justice Minister for Hirshabelle State, an autonomous region within Somalia, until his death in April 2020. He was also a member of the Legislative Assembly of Hirshabelle State. In November 2019, Tohow, a Somali who also held a British passport, traveled to the United Kingdom before returning to Somalia. Nur Hassan Hussein ( so, Nuur Xasan Xuseen Cadde, ar, نور حسن حسين; 2 February 1938 – 1 April 2020), popularly known as Nur Adde, was a Somali politician, who served as Prime Minister of Somalia from November 2007 to February 2009. He was from Mogadishu and part of the Abgaal sub-clan of the Hawiye. Early career Hussein began his professional career in the early 1950s as a police officer for Italian Somaliland before Somalia gained its independence. After completing studies in Law at the Somalia National University and the Fiscal Law School in Rome, Hussein became chief police officer and attorney general in 1987 under President Siad Barre, a post he held until 1991 when the Somali Civil War broke out. Ahmed Ismail Hussein Hudeidi ( so, Axmed Ismaaciil Xuseen Xudeydi), known as Hudeidi or Xudeydi, was a Somali musician who played the oud and composed songs. Early life and career Hudeidi was born in Berbera in 1928 and raised in Yemen, where his father was a police sergeant. Hudeidi was always fascinated by music, and fell in love with the oud when his father took him to a party in Aden where an Arab man was playing the instrument. He learned how to play it from Abdullahi Qarshe, who advised Hudeydi's father to buy his son an oud and a pick as well as books and writing instruments for school. During the 1950s and 1960s, Hudeidi lived in Yemen, Somalia, and Djibouti, playing the oud and getting into trouble for singing politically rebellious songs as well as from rival musicians.
