Julián Soler
Julián Soler (born Julián Díaz Pavia; 17 February 1907 – 5 May 1977) was a Mexican film director, actor, and screenwriter of the Golden Age of Mexican cinema. In his career spanning half a century, Soler received two Ariel Award nominations. Early life Julián Soler was born in Ciudad Jiménez, Chihuahua, as Julián Díaz Pavía on 17 February 1907 to Domingo Díaz García and Irene Pavía Soler. He was the elder brother of Mercedes Soler and the younger brother of Fernando Soler, Andrés Soler, and Domingo Soler. His family is known as the Soler Dynasty. Luis Alcoriza de la Vega (September 5, 1918 – December 3, 1992) was a respected Mexican screenwriter, film director, and actor. Alcoriza was born in Spain and, exiled because of the Spanish Civil War, established himself in Mexico from 1940. His 1962 film ''Tlayucan'' was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. His 1987 film ''Life Is Most Important'' was entered into the 15th Moscow International Film Festival. Miguel Mihura
Miguel Mihura Santos (21 July 1905, in Madrid – 27 October 1977) was a Spanish playwright. He is best known for his comedy '' Tres sombreros de copa'' (1952), a work of absurd humor that predates similar works by Beckett or Ionesco and that broke with many of the previous conventions of Spanish comic theatre. He was also active as a comics artist. Biography Miguel Mihura was born in Madrid in 1905. His father was an actor and theatrical producer. When he was in his twenties, he wrote his best-known comedy, ''Tres sombreros de copa'', but its humour was not appreciated by the conservative pre-war Spanish society. ''Tres sombreros de copa'' was not staged until 1952, achieving a great success. In the 1920s he was a contributor of the satirical magazine ''Gutiérrez''. María Elena Marqués Rangel (14 December 1926 – 11 November 2008) was a Mexican actress and singer who was a star during the Golden Age of Mexican cinema in the 1940s and 1950s. Biography She was born on December 14, 1926 in Mexico City. She was discovered by the film director Fernando de Fuentes, who was her neighbor. Sofía Álvarez Caicedo (23 May 1913 – 30 April 1985) was a Colombian-Mexican actress and singer. She is best remembered for her work in the Golden Age of Mexican cinema. Wolf Ruvinskis (October 31, 1921 – November 9, 1999), born Wolf Ruvinskis Manevics, was a Latvian-Mexican actor and professional wrestler. He was married to dancer Armida Herrera. Born to a Latvian mother and a Ukrainian father, of Jewish background, they relocated to Argentina in 1923. In spite of living in extreme poverty he excelled in sports and as a professional wrestler he toured South America, the United States and Mexico.
