Charles Belmont Davis
Charles Belmont Davis (1866 - 1926) was a writer, drama critic, and publisher. Several of his stories were adapted into films including his short story "The Octopus" which was adapted into '' Mother o' Mine'' (1921). His short story "When Johnny Comes Marching Home" which appeared in the October 1914 issue of Metropolitan Magazine was adapted into ''The Home Stretch'' (1921). His story "Handle with Care" was adapted into ''Handle with Care (1922 film)''. He wrote a couple stories for '' Harper's Magazine''. His mother was pioneering writer and social reformer Rebecca Harding Davis and his older brother was Richard Harding Davis. The brothers attended Lehigh University and were involved in establishing its drama club. Davis served as U. S. Consul to Florence from 1893 to 1897. Stanley Walpole
Stanley Walpole (b. 1886 – d: March 14, 1968 (age 82) ) was an Australian actor of stage and screen who was one of the first Australians have success in American films. Biography Walpole worked for Bland Holt then with J.C. Williamson for six years. He and his wife Ethel Phillips, along with Charles Villers, were the resident actors for Australian Photoplay Company. In 1912 he moved to the USA and appeared in a number of films there, becoming a leading man for the Eclair Company. He returned to Australia for eight months in Melbourne acting for J.C Williamsons, then returned to the US and was signed by Julius Stern for Universal Heights. Annette Margaret Bade (March 22, 1900 – September 2, 1975) was an American stage performer, best known as a Ziegfeld girl. Early life Annette Margaret Bade was born in New York City, the daughter of William Bade and Lillian C. Bade (née Dittman). Her parents were in show business, as were her grandparents. She left school after completing 8th grade. Career Annette Bade was a milliner's model as a young woman. Anna Violet Clark (1896-1974) was an American screenwriter active during Hollywood's silent era. Biography The youngest of four children born to A.W. Clark and Anna Taggert in Omaha, Nebraska, Violet attended Mills College in Oakland, California, and then graduated from the University of Chicago. She started off her professional career as a journalist at newspapers in the Midwest. She soon began writing scenarios; the first one she sold was for 1919's '' Bonnie, Bonnie Lassie'', directed by Tod Browning. In 1920, Clark came to Los Angeles to accept a position as a scenario writer for Thomas H. Ince. She'd also write a number of stories for actress Katherine McDonald and B. P. Shulberg at First National, as well as Samuel Goldwyn. She married Los Angeles–based commercial artist Robert Freeman in 1922, and the pair spent a year in London, during which she wrote pictures for British studios.
