''A Wife for Three Days'' (German: ''Eine Frau für drei Tage'') is a 1944 German romantic drama film directed by Fritz Kirchhoff and starring Hannelore Schroth, Carl Raddatz and Ursula Herking.Kreimeier p.354 It was shot at the Babelsberg Studios in Potsdam and on location around Berlin and its vicinity including the River Havel and Wannsee. Filming also took place in Salzburg and Mondsee in Austria. The film's sets were designed by the art director Erich Kettelhut. Fritz Kirchhoff
Fritz Kirchhoff (1901–1953) was a German screenwriter, film producer and director. He was a noted director during the Nazi era, directing film such as the anti-British propaganda thriller ''Attack on Baku'' (1942). His 1942 film ''5 June'', showing the German defeat of France in 1940, was banned by Joseph Goebbels for unclear reasons, although it has been speculated it was to avoid offending the Vichy government. After the Second World War Kirchhoff set up his own production company in Hamburg. Erich Karl Heinrich Kettelhut (1 November 1893 – 13 March 1979) was a German production designer, Art director#In film, art director and set decorator. Kettelhut is considered one of the most important artists in the history of early German cinema, mainly for his set direction for ''Die Nibelungen'' (1924) and his design and visual effects for ''Metropolis (1927 film), Metropolis'' (1927). Mondsee (lake)
Mondsee (''Moon Lake'') is a lake in the Upper Austrian part of the Salzkammergut and near the larger Attersee. Its southwestern shore marks the border between the states of Upper Austria and Salzburg and also between the Northern Limestone Alps in the south and the Sandstone zone of the northern Alps.
