A Touch Of Frost (TV Series)
''A Touch of Frost'' is a television detective series produced by Yorkshire Television (later ITV Studios) for ITV from 6 December 1992 until 5 April 2010, initially based on the Frost novels by R. D. Wingfield. Writing credit for the three episodes in the first 1992 series went to Richard Harris. The series stars David Jason as Detective Inspector William Edward "Jack" Frost, an experienced and dedicated detective who frequently clashes with his superiors. In his cases, Frost is usually assisted by a variety of different detective sergeants or constables, with each bringing a different slant to the particular case. Comic relief is provided by Frost's interactions with the bureaucratically-minded Superintendent Norman "Horn-rimmed Harry" Mullett, played by Bruce Alexander. The police show, or police crime drama, is a subgenre of procedural drama and detective fiction that emphasizes the investigative procedure of a police officer or department as the protagonist(s), as contrasted with other genres that focus on either a private detective, an amateur investigator or the characters who are the targets of investigations. While many police procedurals conceal the criminal's identity until the crime is solved in the narrative climax (the so-called whodunit), others reveal the perpetrator's identity to the audience early in the narrative, making it an inverted detective story. Raymond 'Ray' Russell (born 4 April 1947) is an English session musician who is primarily a guitarist. He is also a record producer and composer. In 1973 he was a member of the band Mouse, which released a progressive rock album entitled ''Lady Killer'' for the Sovereign record label. Jason Maza
Jason Maza (born 24 April 1986) is an English actor, producer, director and screenwriter. Career Maza was accepted to the Central School of Speech and Drama, but at that time, he was already working as an actor so decided not to attend. Colin Buchanan (born 1966) is a Scottish actor who is best known for playing Detective Peter Pascoe in the BBC television series ''Dalziel and Pascoe'' which commenced in March 1996 and ran until June 2007. Detective Inspector William Edward "Jack" Frost, GC QPM, is a fictional detective created by R. D. Wingfield—characterised as sloppy, untidy, hopeless with paperwork—but unmatched at solving mysteries. The character has appeared in two radio plays, ten published novels, and a TV series spanning 42 episodes between 1992 and 2010. "Jack" is a nickname, alluding to Jack Frost. Radio plays The character first appeared in a radio play entitled ''Three Days of Frost'' first transmitted on BBC Radio 4 on 12 February 1977, which is a re-telling of Wingfield's "Frost at Christmas" (the novel had yet to be published).
