Joe De Grasse
Joseph Louis De Grasse (May 4, 1873 – May 25, 1940) was a Canadians, Canadian film director. Born in Bathurst, New Brunswick, he was the elder brother of actor Sam De Grasse. Biography Joseph De Grasse had studied and was a first-class graduate of accounting and he began his career as a journalist, but soon became enamored with the theater and took work as a stage actor. In 1903, he quit his full-time job as the City of Boston's bookkeeper to pursue acting. In 1910, he acted in his first motion picture and although he would appear as an actor in 13 films, and write 2 screenplays, his real interest was in directing. While working in Hollywood, Los Angeles, Hollywood for Universal Studios, Universal Pictures, De Grasse met and married one of the few female directors working at the time, Ida May Park (1879–1954). Frederick Vroom (11 November 1857 – 24 June 1942) was a Canadian actor of the silent film era. Vroom appeared in more than 70 films between 1912 and 1939, mostly in supporting roles and bit parts. He played featured roles in Buster Keaton's films '' The Navigator'' (1924) and '' The General'' (1926). He was born in Clementsport, Nova Scotia, Canada and died in Hollywood, California from a heart attack. Aileen Manning
Aileen Manning (January 20, 1886 – March 25, 1946) was an American film actress. Manning was in demand as a character actress in silent films. She was known for her roles in silent and early talkie films, including ''Uncle Tom's Cabin'' (1927) and ''Huckleberry Finn'' (1931). About her performance in '' Everybody's Sweetheart'' (1920), ''Variety'' wrote that she "makes the character necessarily disagreeable, but true to life". She played Queen Anne in '' A Lady of Quality'' (1924); it was noted that she bore a resemblance to the character she was playing. She played another queen, Elizabeth I, in the MGM short '' The Virgin Queen'' (1928). Manning lived at Hollywood-by-the-Sea. She died on March 25, 1946 in Hollywood. Eddie Gribbon (January 3, 1890 – September 29, 1965) was an American film actor. He appeared in more than 180 films from the 1910s to the 1950s. Gribbon began working in Mack Sennett films in 1916 and continued through the 1920s. He usually had significant roles in two-reel films, but his roles in feature films were lesser ones. Thomas Lockyer Jefferson (September 10, 1856 – April 2, 1932) was an American film and stage actor in mostly silent films. Biography He was born to Margaret Clements Lockyer (died 1861) and actor Joseph Jefferson. The '' Burns Mantle Yearbook'' reported that he was sixth in a line of famous Jeffersons. He had leading roles in several films including ''The Grim Game'' (1919) with Harry Houdini. He also starred in two film adaptations of Rip Van Winkle as the title character, a role his father had performed on stage. He toured the U.S. performing a starring role in the play '' Lightnin'.'' Charlotte Pierce (October 22, 1904 – November 23, 1996) was an American actress in silent films. Early life Charlotte Elaine Pierce was born in Girard, Illinois, and raised in Salina, Kansas, the daughter of Schuyler Rensselaer Pierce and Faye Ransom Pierce. Douglas Gerrard (12 August 1891 – 5 June 1950) was an Irish-American actor and film director of the silent and early sound era. He appeared in more than 110 films between 1913 and 1949.
