A Mile From Home
''A Mile from Home'' is a 2013 Nigerian action-drama film written, produced and directed by Eric Aghimien, starring Tope Tedela, Chiedozie Sambasa Nzeribe, Alex Ayalogu, Eric Nwanso and Tolu Akinbileje. Tedela portrays Lala, a university student with an identity crisis who joins a notorious gang to get revenge. The film was nominated in two categories at the 2nd Africa Magic Viewers' Choice Awards and won best actor in a drama for Tedela. The movie won the 2014 Africa Movie Academy Award for Achievement in Visual Effect. Plot ''A Mile from Home'' chronicles the life of a university student, Jude Odaro/Lala (Tope Tedela) who joined a gang in his quest to avenge an injustice meted out to him by Stone, a notorious gangster who forcefully dispossesses him of a precious possession. Eric Aghimien
Eric Enomamien Aghimien is a Nigerian director, producer, screenwriter and editor. His debut feature film, '' A Mile from Home'' won awards at both the 2014 Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards and the 10th Africa Movie Academy Awards. Early life Eric Aghimien was born in Benin City, Edo State and is the fourth of seven children. At the age of eight while he was in primary school, he began drawing comics and selling same to fellow students. He attended Immaculate Conception College, Benin City and Auchi Polytechnic, Edo State, Nigeria. Eric is naturally gifted with creative artistic abilities which includes; singing, moulding and drawing. His greatest hobby since childhood is; watching movies besides swimming and football. He obtained a National Diploma in Science Laboratory Technology in 2005. While obtaining his diploma, he was a member of a musical group called Da TED. Temitope Christopher Tedela (born 5 June 1990) is a Nigerian actor and producer. The 10th Africa Movie Academy Awards ceremony honouring movies of 2013 was scheduled to take place in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State on 26 April 2014, but was shifted to 24 May 2014. The nomination party was held at Emperor Palace, Johannesburg, South Africa on 2 April 2014. 2014 Nigeria Entertainment Awards
The 2014 Nigeria Entertainment Awards took place on 31 August 2014, at the Skirball Center for the Performing Arts in New York City. The eligibility period was from March 2013 to March 2014. In April 2014, the NEA reviewing committee began collecting submissions for the 2014 edition. The deadline for submission was April 30, 2014, and the nominations were announced on May 29, 2014.
