''A Lump of Coal'' is an Australian compilation album of Christmas music produced in 1991 by Dead Line Records (Australia) and First Warning Records (U.S.) for RCA Records. While most of the artists from this disc remain unknown to most, Hoodoo Gurus, Crash Test Dummies, The Wedding Present, The Primitives, and Henry Rollins have all produced well-known albums and many of the other artists are popular amongst rock fans. Carnival Art
Carnival Art was an American alternative rock band. Formed in Los Angeles in 1989, the band in the beginning consisted of Michael Petak (lead vocals, guitar), Shane Paul Rhody (guitar, vocals), Ed Dobrydnio (bass guitar), and Keith Fallis (drums, vocals). They released their debut album, titled ''Like Nobody's Business'', exclusively on vinyl through their own record label Spineless Voodoo Records the same year. After this album, Rhody exited the band, with Dobrydnio replacing him on guitar and Brian Bell joining the band to assume bass duties. In 1990, the band released a promotional EP titled ''Dig'', followed by their second full-length studio album, ''Thrumdrone'', released a year later on Situation Two Records, along with an EP titled ''Blue Food & Black Sparks''. Henry Rollins
Henry Lawrence Garfield (born February 13, 1961), known professionally as Henry Rollins, is an American singer, writer, spoken word artist, actor, and presenter. After performing in the short-lived hardcore punk band State of Alert in 1980, Rollins fronted the California hardcore band Black Flag from 1981 to 1986. Following the band's breakup, he established the record label and publishing company 2.13.61 to release his spoken word albums, and formed the Rollins Band, which toured with a number of lineups from 1987 to 2003 and in 2006. Rollins has hosted numerous radio shows, such as ''Harmony in My Head'' on Indie 103, and television shows such as ''The Henry Rollins Show'' and '' 120 Minutes''. "Here Comes Santa Claus (Right Down Santa Claus Lane)" is a popular Christmas song written and originally performed by Gene Autry, with music composed by Oakley Haldeman. Autry's original recording (in which he pronounces Santa Claus as "Santy Claus") was a top-10 hit on the pop and country charts; the song would go on to be covered many times in the subsequent decades. History Autry got the idea for the song after riding his horse in the 1946 Santa Claus Lane Parade (now the Hollywood Christmas Parade) in Los Angeles, during which crowds of spectators chanted, ''"Here comes Santa Claus"''.
