The Independent Moving Pictures Company (IMP) was a motion picture studio and production company founded in 1909 by Carl Laemmle. The company was based in New York City, with production facilities in Fort Lee, New Jersey. In 1912, IMP merged with several other production companies to form Universal Film Manufacturing Company, later re-named Universal Pictures Company with Laemmle as president. Ethel Wright Nesbitt (June 24, 1884 – November 7, 1958) was an American actress and teacher. Wright was born in Mineral Point, Wisconsin, the second of three daughters born to lawyer Samuel Wright and his wife Catherine J Wright. All four of her grandparents were born in England. Rodman Law (January 21, 1885 – October 14, 1919) born Frederick Rodman Law was a career parachutist, building climber and later silent movie stuntman and actor. Biography He was the older brother of pioneering aviatrix Ruth Law Oliver. Law married Florence Kimball and was the father of three children. The family made their home in Brooklyn. Law lived in Chicago and Texas. On February 2, 1912 Law parachuted off the top of the candle of the Statue of Liberty. Hayward Seaton Mack (March 20, 1882 – December 24, 1921) was an American actor of the silent era. Born in Albany, New York, in 1882, Mack appeared in more than 80 films between 1910 and 1921. Mack's motion picture career began in 1910; he appeared in films of many leading motion picture companies of the time. He had also worked in vaudeville and in stage productions. Before embarking on an entertainment career Mack was a civil engineer and also worked as a newspaper man.
