A Family (2004 Film)
''A Family'' () is a 2004 South Korean drama film starring Soo Ae and Joo Hyun, and written and directed by Lee Jung-chul. Plot Jeong-eun, a former pickpocket with four prior convictions, is released from prison after serving a three-year sentence. She reunites with her younger brother, Jeong-hwan, and father, Ju-seok, the latter with whom she has a troubled relationship. Ju-seok, an ex-cop-turned-fishmonger, hides his love and concern for his daughter beneath a gruff exterior. Though Jeong-eun is tough and rebellious, she is fiercely protective of her brother and father, and is genuinely determined to put her life in order this time. While under probation, she works as an assistant at a beauty salon, hoping to someday open her own salon with the money she has saved. Soo Ae
Park Soo-ae (; born 16 September 1979), known mononymously as Soo Ae, is a South Korean actress best known for portraying Kim In-hae in the 2013 film ''The Flu'' and Oh Soo-yeon in the 2018 film ''High Society''. Soo Ae began her career on television, but after her breakout role in '' A Family'' (2004), she became well-known as a leading actress in films, notably in '' Sunny'' (2008) and ''Midnight FM'' (2010). Park Hee-soon
Park Hee-soon (; born February 13, 1970) is a South Korean actor. He graduated with a Theater degree from Seoul Institute of the Arts, and was a member of the Mokwha Repertory Company from 1990 to 2001. He became active in film beginning 2002, and won several Best Supporting Actor awards for his portrayal of a tough cop in '' Seven Days'' (2007). He received further acting recognitions for his roles in the films '' The Scam'' (2009) and '' 1987: When the Day Comes'' (2017). The Director's Cut Awards () is an annual awards ceremony for excellence in film in South Korea. It is presented by the Korea Film Director's Network (KFDN), a group of approximately 300 Korean filmmakers. The Korean Film Awards was a South Korean film awards ceremony hosted by the broadcasting network MBC from 2002 to 2010. History Originally named the MBC Film Awards, the ceremony was first established in 2002. It was renamed the Korean Film Awards in 2003. Votes were determined from a jury of 500 film professionals and 500 viewers selected through the internet, using a 7:3 ratio. In 2009, failure to secure sponsors during the global economic recession resulted in the cancellation of that year's ceremony. It resumed in 2010, with Hyundai Motor Company as the main sponsor.
