''A Cinderella Story'' is a 2004 American teen romantic comedy film directed by Mark Rosman, written by Leigh Dunlap and starring Hilary Duff, Chad Michael Murray, Jennifer Coolidge, and Regina King. A modernization of the classic Cinderella folklore, the film's plot revolves around two internet pen pals who plan to meet in person at their high school's Halloween dance. Damon Santostefano (born August 15, 1959) is an American film director and screenwriter. He is best known for directing the 1999 Warner Brothers feature film '' Three to Tango'' starring Matthew Perry, Neve Campbell and Dylan McDermott; ''Bring It On Again''; and the television series ''Clueless''. Biography Santostefano was performing stand-up comedy in his hometown of Boston during his teens.
