''A Child's Christmases in Wales'' was a 2009 one-off period comedy written by comedian Mark Watson, starring Ruth Jones, Paul Kaye, and Steve Speirs. It was shown on BBC Four in December 2009, and repeated on BBC Two. Since November 2017, it is available to watch on BritBox. Plot An adaption of the Dylan Thomas classic, ''A Child's Christmas in Wales'', and filmed in the small mining town of Ferndale, Rhondda Cynon Taf, Wales, has Owen Rhys reminiscing on Christmas-past (1983, 1986 and 1989). Every Christmas, Owen's uncle Huw ( Steve Speirs), a successful and divorced man, his son, Maurice, and Uncle Gorwell (Paul Kaye) come to Owen's family house to stay. Mark Watson
Mark Andrew Watson (born 13 February 1980) is a British comedian and novelist. Early life Watson was born in Bristol to a Welsh mother and English father. He has younger twin sisters and a brother, Paul. He attended Bristol Grammar School, where he won a "Gabbler of the Year" award. He went on to study English at Queens' College, Cambridge, graduating with first class honours. At university he was a member of the Footlights and contemporary of Stefan Golaszewski, Tim Key and Dan Stevens. He was part of the revue which was nominated for the Best Newcomer category in the Perrier Comedy Awards at the 2001 Edinburgh Festival Fringe and also co-directed a revue with Key. Alex Beckett (actor)
Peter Alexander Beckett (30 June 1982 – 10 April 2018) was a British actor. He was best known for his role in the BBC TV comedy series ''Twenty Twelve'' and its follow-up ''W1A''. He played many theatre roles, including Higgins in ''Pygmalion'' in 2017, and several characters, including Fidel Castro, in the 2013 musical hybrid production of the Neon Neon album ''Praxis Makes Perfect''.
