Doe Ching (1915 – 16 May 1969) was a Chinese film director and screenwriter who worked in the cinema of Hong Kong. Biography In 1915, Doe was born in Zhejiang province, China. Doe directed over 51 films between 1952 and 1969. His 1967 film ''The Blue and the Black'' was ranked 91st in the 100 Greatest Chinese-Language Films by the Golden Horse Film Festival in January 2011. On 16 May 1969, Doe died of stomach cancer in Hong Kong. He was 54 years old. Shaw Brothers (HK) Ltd. () was the largest film production company in Hong Kong, and operated from 1925 to 2011. In 1925, three Shaw brothers— Runje, Runme, and Runde—founded Tianyi Film Company (also called "Unique") in Shanghai, and established a film distribution base in Singapore, where Runme and their youngest brother, Run Run Shaw, managed the precursor to the parent company, Shaw Organisation. Lisa Chiao Chiao, often credited as Chiao Chiao (; born Chiao Li-na (焦莉娜); 6 March 1943), is a Taiwanese film actress best known for her work in Hong Kong cinema. Background Born in Chongqing, on 6 March 1943, Her family moved to Taiwan in 1949. She took up acting in 1961. In 1963, Chiao married Huang Tsung-hsing, the following year Huang left for British Hong Kong, Hong Kong to join the Shaw Brothers Studio while Chiao remained in Taiwan to continue acting. Kwan Shan (April 20, 1933 – October 1, 2012) was a Hong Kong film actor. Kwan appeared as a romantic lead actor in Mandarin-language films created in Hong Kong, especially during the 1960s. His roles included several Shaw Brothers Studio productions. Early life Kwan was born on April 20, 1933 in Shenyang, Liaoning province, China, and later moved to Hong Kong. He was an ethnic Manchu who traced his heritage to the Guwalgiya clan. Personal life Kwan's daughter is Rosamund Kwan, an actress. Kwan died of lung cancer on October 1, 2012, at the age of 79. His funeral was held at the Hong Kong Funeral Home.
