''A Black Ribbon for Deborah'' ( it, Un fiocco nero per Deborah) is a 1974 Italian horror film directed by Marcello Andrei. Giuseppe Pulieri stated that the script he worked one was ruined by a producers attempt to exploit the film as part of the "demonic possession" cycle of films. Pulieri stated that "The script stayed ten years in the drawer, I even pestered Raymond Stross into making it, to no avail ... they altered the story, the in all the usual bullshit: the witches, the sorcerer, the special effects..." Marcello Andrei (born 1922) is an Italian film director and screenwriter. Born in Rome, Andrei started his career in the early 1950s as assistant director, then he made his directorial debut in 1956 with ''Borung'', a documentary film set in Indonesia. He is one of the founders of the Festival dei Popoli which has been held in Florence since 1959. Micaela Esdra (born Micaela Carmosino; January 29, 1952) is an Italian actress and voice actress. Biography Esdra began her career in the mid-1960s attending Rina Morelli's acting school and, when she was very young, was directed on stage by Giorgio Strehler, Luchino Visconti and Luca Ronconi. As a film actress, she starred in several musicarellis and Horror films, including Mario Bava's ''Kill, Baby, Kill''. Raymond Stross (22 May 1916 – 31 July 1988) was a British film producer. Early life and education Stross was born on 22 May 1916 in Leeds. He was educated at Abingdon School from 1929 until 1933 and was a member of the second XV rugby team. Film He started Sturt Stross Film Productions in 1937 becoming the second youngest director-producer in the country at the time. His company's first production was a film called ''The Show's the Thing'' He also directed the 1937 film ''The Reverse Be My Lot''. By 1951 he owned a chain of theatres as well as being a producer. Piero Regnoli (1921–2001) was an Italian screenwriter and film director. Career Born in 1921, Regnoli worked in the film industry between 1953 and 1991 where he wrote over 110 screenplays and directed 11 films.
